Hey, Yardy. I had a pretty good one; hope you did, too.

It was meant for PillowSofa, whose post was deleted. You can take my first imp that was meant for someone else, if you want.

Hey, you just described the reason I'm on INTJf.

On the surface it sounds downright insane, but I'll have to do some background research before I feel confident making a comment on this. I don't live in the US, and I've never heard of anything like this happening here. I'm not even sure sperm donation is really a thing, but I'll look around and see what I can discover.

    I'm pretty okay.

Nothing too bad has kept you away, I hope.

    Maybe a little too friendly.

I understand. There are people who affirm determinism but say we have free will anyway, like Daniel Dennett. It's called compatibilism, if I remember correctly. You might want to check it out.

I think we live in a deterministic universe. I see cause and effect in place of free will. We don't author our own thoughts; they just come to us. We are exquisitely complex and subtle machines of cause and effect.

I will have to go take another look at that

I actually don't believe God gave people free will. I don't think it's possible or compatible with the state of God's omniscience and omnipotence. If I were going to be a Christian, I'd be a Presbyterian/Calvinist. Besides, even if we did have free will, that doesn't stop God from being responsible for what his creatures are able to do. He designed us this way, it's all on his head.
