I often avoid seriousness... serious conversations on the forum. Too often they aren't about sharing your personal views or widening the landscapes of understanding. I don't mean we should always be self-centered when talking about serious matters, but quite often we can only quote different sources, ponder their validity and then share our own personal experiences and perspective. It all becomes meaningless as soon as your companion in said discussion starts to whack you with a trout, as I like to express it.
For some reason competitive attitude makes me reluctant to participate - to me it isn't a competition. I just don't see any point in competing with mostly anonymous people online to prove myself right - I don't care about changing other people's opinion, they must be willing to change it themselves before I'm willing to help. I don't need it for validation, because I validate myself and seek support only from persons that I admire and respect. I don't have anything against good debates, but I'm not interested to follow a tennis game of poor logical concluding.
So, take that as an introduction to my reasons to like your style. You quite patiently explain your personal experiences and understanding, you don't over-analyze what can't be analyzed and you pass irrelevant remarks without paying much attention on them. It sounds like your ultimate goal isn't to prove everybody to be, think and behave like you - you really are trying to answer the questions honestly and personally without creating universal truths.
