Just realized you are the only still-active member, who is not an administrator, with an earlier join date than me. (By one week.) Props.

For that, I think the current choices are stuff like: Vuzix's stuff (expensive)

Also, there are the upcoming Meta Spaceglasses or the Atheer Labs glasses - both should have developer previews out, not too far in the future..

The chat software only supports being in one room at a time, but this is easily worked around by opening two instances of the chatroom in different browser tabs.

I don't think fixing it is worth the bother since I'm planning on going back to irc. The reason I got rid of irc was because I wanted a chatroom that was integrated with the forum. I have a web based irc client on the test server that integrates with the forum so members are automatically logged in with their forum authentication. So in that way it functions like what we currently have. Aside from addressing the multiple rooms issue, it should also be less resource intensive, have better PM functionality, and address the connectivity issues that some members have with our current software.

They technically are, but it's a poor implementation. The issue is that users will only appear on the userlist of the last room they loaded, even if they remain in the first room. If they close the second room, it's possible for them to be present without being listed anywhere. Aside from being annoying because the userlist isn't accurate, it also creates problems because commands on users are issued from the userlist context menu.

So they can create a situation where they are in the room but can't be seen, kicked, banned, ignored, or private messaged since they aren't on the userlist. Not that an admin couldn't get someone unlisted out anyway, but it still creates problems for the mods and other members.

There is a very good chance that we'll be going back to irc soon.

well soon I hope to be doing tai chi full time, which while the opposite of sitting on the couch, is a darn sight better than sitting in the office.

haha, ever feel like just dropping it all? I never felt more liberated than when I went to Africa.

ha yeah, well, obviously he has the communication skills of a 5 year old, and I was too intense (happens often). I have to see him tomorrow so I'm just going to ignore him.

ah, nothing. something actually got me sad a few days ago...there's a thread I set up about it, advice on ISTPs, if you're particularly interested.

so this is just the juxtaposed happiness, if you know what I mean. when you've had a few days of feeling down in the dumps you appreciate getting back on an even keel.

you've always got too much work on
