I thought I was alone in my Jacob's Ladder fan club. I don't think I ever saw stunt man. I guess I'll have to check that out.

Gromit is the one to get the manager, usually; we both agree that letting the manager know is important when service has been very good, because, in part, so many people complain so fast when they do not get what they want. We also always 'sneak' extra money to the waitress or waiter when someone else pays and does not leave a big enough tip. Gromit is very good at doing it so fast, discreetly, that our hosts never notice; they think he slipped out to the restroom

    reiven,

I played a game, started a thread (long time ago) 'Choose Your Family', and copy/pasted it a bit ago into my Writer's Notebook.

Carl Jung was one of my grandparents

No, not kidney dialysis; the 'colon' equivalent for regular cleansing so I don't have to get a colostomy as my Mammaw had done... Eh, don't want to talk about it, specifically; just I am ill, fighting it, prepared as best I can for succumbing to the disease--and living as best, wholly as possible, day by day.

I know persons who've had kidney stones; very painful!

Thanks so much for your well wishes and concern; back-atcha, too.

It's only pointless if you allow it to be. Our programming is sophisticated enough to allow us the illusion of free will. I'm fine with that.

    ADDITIONS/CORRECTIONS
    Reiven,

When I think of 'something', how you write it here, it cannot = luck or fate (too iffy; shallow to my ear/mind), and term 'God' has been so degraded in the usage(s), the filthy way God's name has been misused (He says it is OK to revenge, maim, kill, and so on), that I often talk w/The Unlimited One... Other times, I listen... and use no name. This is the personal way. When I am speaking w/another person, words must be used; not vague and multiple so that the other human being is not at a loss as to what I am expressing [if I explain well enough; the other is listening the same]. (I studied Jung, synchronicity, related theories, and persons using Jung-based theory for his own work, like Joseph Campbell. It was a part of my Hero's Journey; and like a Buddhist analogy: I left the 'raft' on the shore, once I no longer needed it.)

Also, I am always working--while playing. I am an artist. I accept that I will be misunderstood: Here on the Internet when I am writing 'in' my Notebook (blog spot) what is 'always' work-in-progress... If I out-live the disease that has a head start on killing me; if I publish the finished work, I will be misunderstood because I am limited in what I can experience, recreate 'true-to-life'. The reader, too, is limited in what he has experienced, can 'receive', then, and say, years from now when I will have left the husk behind, gone on.

I used to be so angry at the 'mock-up' of God that I tried being 'good' while I did much that was bad... and I kept struggling toward The Light.

The Indigo Girls' song, Closer to Fine; also, their Watershed; and finally, Secure Yourselves... Oh, and 'Kid Fears', taken together (with Black Dove by Tori Amos) do a good job of reflecting, bolstering, balancing... what I used to live, still some-bit live:

Artists, whether what Flannery, others (including myself) call 'writing w/the natural' or 'writing w/the 'super-natural' in mind are not well-received by most:

Kris Kristofferson, for instance, has taken a lot of shit through the years for being in the military, then leaving it to fight against 'war'.

Kris and his band, 'back in the day' did USO tours, performing for the troops, inc. singing anti-war songs. After one show, a brigadier general and he spoke, respectfully together. The brigadier general said, 'Out here, I like to think that we are a force fighting for freedom... and your being here is also a force fighting for freedom...'

Ying-yang completeness... in a choose sides kind of false reality-making world.

Thanks for sharing what you did.

I'm ill today, sorta 'extra', so I was not up to responding till now.

    Peace to you,

    ~Carolyn

just have at it! you might find letting your inner sarcasm free cathartic. it's required in an INTJ insults thread. otherwise, your avatar is just mugging for a hugging.
