Also, Jar Jar Binks was not an ENFP, he was totally an ESFP.

Finally best fictional INTJ was by far Andy Dufresne from Shawshank Redemption.

I'm going to have to disagree on your typing here as The Architect was stated as having very little to no intuition so he'd be an ISTJ in my opinion not an INTJ

Wrong. INTJs score low on relating to peoples feelings, trying to understand their illogical motivations.

The Architect made a perfect world, perfect in every way, but he couldn't account for the emotional bullshit...not much different then the doctor who made Frankenstein, and now he's got idiot villagers down stairs trying to burn down his castle.

For me...

Albus Dumbledore. He is the ultimate mastermind. He basically orchestrated that entire series, including his own death. He's a bit mad, yes, but a bloody genius. Absolutely INTJ. This man is basically my fictional character idol. When I grow up, I want to be Albus Dumbledore.

Dr. Gregory House. He's brilliant, obsessive about his projects, and very efficient, using his understanding of his team members' personalities to predict (usually accurately) what they are going to do, thus allowing him to essentially use them as pawns, extensions of his own will, to further his own projects in the most effective way possible. Brilliant.

Jean-Luc Picard. Do I even need to say anything about him? He's more self-explanatory than even Dumbledore is. A fascinating, logical character, an INTJ with a heart of gold. Extraordinary.

Bruce Wayne. Granted, his emotions do rule him at times, in some versions of him, but I cite Batman TAS as an example of Bruce Wayne as an INTJ. He is logical, tactical, well-educated, and a very deep thinker. He is a mastermind able to balance his own life with his superhero alter ego. Beyond that, one could view his personal vendetta as a "project" that he is constantly working on.

Severus Snape. His ability to conceal his own emotions and keep them separate from his logic is astounding. He appears cold and even cruel, but his obsession with his own "project" - protecting Lily Evans' child at all costs and bringing down the Dark Lord from the inside - shows the caring that we all know INTJ's are capable of when properly motivated. Very self-regulated as well.

Dexter Morgan, if a sociopath can be classified using MBTI. I'm not sure that any personality indicator takes abnormal psychology into account, though. At any rate, he is closest to an INTJ overall, and shows a number of INTJ traits that he may have possessed even sans the trauma.

Hannibal Lecter falls under the same category as Dexter, in my mind.

I would say Gene Wilder's version of Willy Wonka, but I'm unconvinced that he is an INTJ. He seems like more of an INTP, due to his disorganised style. He's very much an "absent-minded professor" type, which is more telling of INTP tendencies than INTJ. I will admit that his master plan to find a successor is mildly INTJ-like, though. I think he could be either, depending on the light you shine on his personality traits. Still a favourite fictional character, regardless.

I also agree with Lt. Ellen Ripley, and dare I say, I relate very deeply to her.

Data, if he can be considered capable of being analysed using human psychological profiling such as MBTI, is also a good example, albeit a very extreme one.

Kakashi was a good call, by the way. Spencer Reid, possibly. Temperance Brennan, also possibly.

What you are saying is also true of ISTJ's which is where I would put the Architect.

L is pretty well understood to be an INTP. He is clearly a Ti dominant; Google will revert you to many discussions about this matter.

My personal favorite INTJ is Kakashi Hatake, as per my avatar.

I'm pretty sure Kakashi is an ISTJ, he is pretty sharp, but being clever does not automatically make someone an iNtuitive.

If you want an example of an INTJ from Naruto try Madara, or better yet Itachi.

No No I think INTJ especially since single-minded system builder (ie matrix).

I might be wrong but I kind of think of Ender from Ender's Game as a classic INTJ. He has very deep emotions but doesn't allow many people to see them. (really only his sister, though later he allows the sentient computer program to get close) He refuses to follow the social hierarchy because he sees no values in the rules. He also sees the value in his team members and knows how to utilize them, and is unwilling to tolerate the stupidity of those he's sees as useless - finding ways to get them off his team. All pretty classic indicators.

I was going to put Ender too, but decided to first skim through the forum to see if anyone else has. He is definitely INTJ. Love him. :) Oh and Mr. Darcy. I saw that someone else put him too.

Sephiroth

Don't know about his INTJness (not saying he is or isn't), but I would say he is one of the best video game baddies of all time :)

Mycroft Holmes...(Sherlock's brother).

Imagine being so smart that the UK lets you store their national secrets in your brain. Imagine you don't "go" to work: you sit in a smoke-filled men's club all day (this is Victorian London, OK?) , smoke cigars, drink whiskey, read, eat delicious food (delicious my British standards) and couriers bring you messages and requests. Your answers are the unquestioned rule of espionage and international affairs, the government picks up your gigantic expense bill, and you spend the day in a quiet room full of misanthropes.

You don't have to talk. You don't have to pretend to be social. You get to be a secret hero without anyone wanting to interview you, thank you, or be your friend!

Therefore, I endorse Mycroft Holmes as the greatest INTJ character. Or, at least, the one whose job I actually would want.

Ah, Mycroft. Are we actually sure that Mycroft is an INTJ, though? He seems more ISTJ to me.

Sherlock himself is definitely an ISTP, though.

Gregory House in the first seasons was an ISTP as well, but I very much feel that he is INTJ in the latter ones, where his own personally has been fleshed out instead of "being" Sherlock Holmes.

Funny, I thought it was more the other way arround, that Holmes was likely an ISTJ, and that Mycroft was an INTP. Either way, Mycroft is not likely to be any sort of J, since Holmes describes him as exceptionally brilliant yet ultimately lacking the drive or self diciplin to actually do anything with his ideas. The description does seem to suggest a strong leaning towards Ne (he is capable of proving the truth of his conclusions, but prefers to leave them hanging just incase there is some equally plausible explanation that he has overlooked) so I suppose it is possible that he is an ENTP, but either way he certainly does not appear to be an ISTJ or INTJ.

True. I didn't really think all that much into it, except that Mycroft doesn't strike me as an N, because both him and Sherlock to be very sensing.

Also, Sherlock's refusal to draw any sort of conclusion before he has all the facts seems very much like P to me. Looking elsewhere, INTPs claim that he is far to decisive to be a P.

I don't know. I still would say he's an ISTP.

Looking at the Wikipedia-description, it feels very fitting.

According to Myers-Briggs, ISTPs excel at analyzing situations to reach the heart of a problem so that they can swiftly implement a functional repair, making them ideally suited to the field of engineering. Naturally quiet people, they are interested in understanding how systems operate, focusing on efficient operation and structure. They are open to new information and approaches. But contrary to their seemingly detached natures, ISTPs are often capable of humorously insightful observations about the world around them. They can also be closet daredevils who gravitate toward fast-moving or risky hobbies (such as bungee jumping, hang gliding, racing, motorcycling, and parachuting), recreational sports (such as downhill skiing, paintball, ice hockey, and scuba diving), and careers (such as aviation and firefighting).

ISTPs may sometimes seem to act without regard for procedures, directions, protocol, or even their own safety. But while their approach may seem haphazard, it is in fact based on a broad store of knowledge developed over time through action and keen observation. ISTPs enjoy self-sufficiency and take pride in developing their own solutions to problems.

ISTPs are content to let others live according to their own rules, as long as the favor is reciprocated. ISTPs endure reasonable impositions without complaint—but if their "territory" is encroached upon, eroded, or violated, they defend what they view as rightfully theirs.

Since Japanese characters often have the flattest personalities since the Bible was written, I doubt it is to be possible to type Sephiroth, or anyone else from a contemporary Japanese video game/manga.

Take a look at Naruto; loud, slightly dumb outcast who desperately wants to be loved. Interesting motive.

Take House and Hannibal... Their method of inquiry is Socratic. INTJ's would be insulted if they didn't find their own unique take. INTJ's are empathic.not sociopathic. They put the "free range rude" out of their misery. It is miserable to be have fear of the unknown. As long as you are still questioning. you're still in the game.

Here are some more possible INTJs to consider:

Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver)

HAL 9000 & Dr. David Bowman (2001: A Space Odyssey)

Sam "Ace" Rothstein (Casino)

Elijah Price (Unbreakable)

Scorpio (Dirty Harry)

Jackie Brown (Jackie Brown)

V (V for Vendetta)

Dom Cobb (Inception)

Big Chris, Hatchet Harry, & Diamond Dog (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels)

Robert Capa (Sunshine)

Robin Scherbatsky (How I Met Your Mother)

Ben Wyatt (Parks and Recreation)

Dot Com (30 Rock)

Let me know what you think. I'll probably think of more eventually.
