  1. 1. You are male. 2. You are in currently in your mid 30's. 3. You are married and just became a parent. You are experiencing exciting days, and more are on their way, but through it all you remain strong, loving and deeply caring. 4. You have short hair - partly gray, brown eyes and a fit body. 5. You decided long ago that your kids must have a better childhood than the one you had. You know you'll do anything to make sure of that.
  2. In my younger days, when I was all of 110 lbs soaking wet and 5' 4", I was in angst every day about being thin as a rail and "too short". I would have done just about anything to be taller, "fuller", more muscular - ANYTHING except what I was. The older I got, the less concerned I was about "my looks". I came to the realization that anyone that wanted me because of how I looked wasn't worth being worried about. Nowadays I'm pretty comfortable with my body-type and am only concerned when the state of my body interferes with my ability to do something (or not).
  3. Good example

  4. There's plenty of them over this side of the world. Not that expensive either.

  5. Car crash stories? Sure... '66 VW (first car): Finished working on car in parent's garage. Buttoned up everything and went to pull car onto the street before dad comes home. Turned key without realizing that it was still in first gear without the parking brake on ("I don't need not stinkin' parking brake!"). Low-speed "crash" into the back of the garage, just enough to dent the hood and crack one of the 2X4 studs on the back wall. Dad was NOT pleased (and I was henceforth banished from the garage). '89 Toyota Corolla: Exiting freeway at supra-legal speeds only to find a car parked (yes...parked) at the end of the ramp, half-blocking the lane. Swerved to avoid it only to clip the curb at 40-ish MPH. Right front wheel was pushed back into the passenger's footwell with associated body damage. No one was in the other car. Called cops, filed report, sent claim to insurance. Car was repaired w/ no interaction from other car's owner - assumed car was stolen/abandoned. '99 Suzuki TL1000S: Cool spring morning on a torque-monster bike. Trying to "prove my manhood" by doing my best Nicky Hayden impression on a fast sweeper transition from one highway to another. Grabbed too much throttle and...rear wheel spinning (because of cold tires), now sliding - heading for a concrete barrier. Get off the throttle and transition into an immediate "tank slapper" and low-side crash. Damages...bent peg, torn off front brake lever, ripped jeans, mutilated ego. Limped back home and self-repaired - lesson learned. And the coupe de grace, my '99 Miata in 2012: Driving home from grocery store w/ wife down a median-divided street at approx 45MPH. A lady in a 90's Taurus runs a stop sign, blows through the median and right into the driver-side wheel/fender. The impact spun my car around and I got a second love-tap on the rear quarter panel. We ended up over the curb, sitting astride a snapped off stop sign. I was pissed (thank goodness my wife was there, else I might have been in jail for manslaughter), but insurance info was exchanged. The car was declared a total... ...but I bought it back and repaired the damages myself. The dent in the rear quarter remains as a talisman against future crashes.
  6. The desire to understand...
  7. Awesome all around.

  8. *waves back*

  9. Silently cursing Microsoft Tech Support for wasting 3 days of my (work) life supposedly trying to resolve what should not even be a problem, only to have them send an email saying (in effect), "We're trying to find a solution but, if we can't then too bad SUKAH!"
  10. Wondering why I've been away from the forum for so long...
  11. I'm glad to see you're still here from time to time. I still remember you from my newbie days.
