Am I the only one who gets very bored quickly reading any post over 4-5 lines long, and hardly ever reads any replies unless there are pictures or interesting formatting?
I usually just skip to the end and post my comment...:-) Am I the only one who does this? (please dont lambast me for this ok). |

I do it on occasion, but since you probably won't read this reply, feel free to skip to the end and post another comment.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. But... yeah, unless a topic is of particular interest to me, I get bored quickly too. |

I do it sometimes. I also avoid posting on crowded threads that I refuse to read, unless it is something I am truly interested in.

Brevity is the soul of wit. Most of the 250+ word posts are just stream-of-consciousness rants about this or that, and aren't worth reading. |

If there's more than two paragraphs and the information isn't immediately relevant to something I stated or need information on....I'll generally skip over it.

I'll read a longer post if it's the first post in the thread or if it's well formatted and the first few sentences merit further investigation. Otherwise I'll skim the post if it's too long.

I also do it all the time. I don't know what I be in a hurry for but I feel that reading the whole post is a waste of time. If I find a post to be interesting and doesn't look like a wall of text, I'll read all of it.

I try to post without reading other replies to show my first true impression. Then I read over the short posts and the longer posts of users who usually write intriguing posts. From there if I feel I didn't understand the original post or if a new idea pops into my head, I may change my post to fit the topic. However, I try not to edit anything unless I make a typo.
Other times when I'm just interested in the topic rather than giving a response, I'll give post readings more attention and will be more likely to read longer posts. |

I like to actually read everyone's posts before I post myself. But sometimes if there's a post with loads and loads of text I will get tired and skip to the next one because my head gets too full of details. If it is on a topic I am really interested in or it's well written I won't of course.
But I figure there wouldn't be much point of belonging to the forum in the first place if I wasn't interested in reading what everyone has to say. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. So I read everything and only skip if I get too tired. Thankfully most INTJs are excellent at saying what they need to in a nice tidy, succinct way so it is not a problem. It is one of the things I really like about this forum. |
