Yeah, I definitely do not get six involuntary erections a day. I don't even wake up with morning wood or anything like that even on the majority of days.

I'll get the odd involuntary bit stiff 40% one when my mind wanders and I think about sex or just cause but it doesn’t happen on a daily basis and I can't remember the last notable time it really happened.

No morning wood? Every single day I wake up with a raging boner. I'd go see a doctor.

Someone make a poll about this morning wood / involuntary erections over the day kind of thing. For sexy science, and all that.

How are you defining a hard-on?

Mild to raging.

Almost every day for me too. Makes going to the bathroom in the morning a slight wait.

Sent an impromptu survey to many of my thirty-something real life male friends. None of them get involuntary woodies six times a day and all of them haven't had this problem since they were hormonal teenagers.

First off, it isn't really a "problem". Secondly, I doubt they were being honest. Or they all feel extremely defeated, or are older (30+). Not sure.

Do any other men find they have some type of unusual manstrul cycle, wherein they have a period in the month where they just don't feel all that sexual, and then maybe three or four days when they literally want to

These are the days, maybe occurring every two months or so, that I'll find myself hard at inopportune times (work, church, etc).

Biorythem, but it's supposed to be a 3 or 4 day cycle.

Morning wood feels the best. I sleep in the nude, so when I wake up I shuffle around a bit rubbing it around on the sheets in shear ecstasy before climbing out of bed.

Are we including chubbies as part of "mild"?

Must we subcategorise? But yes, they would fit in.

This is science. We must be as accurate as possible.

We must leave no bone unturned!

As far as I'm concerned, if it swells to just twice the flaccid size, it's a hard-on.

Considering how quickly they ALL responded (probably record response time for any email I've ever sent out in my life) from mildly prudish to hilarious, they were being honest. It's fortunate I do know my friends and contacts and chose the guys who would be honest, who wouldn't get strange about it.

A few cyber results rolling in now, nope, not six times a day regularly for involuntary boners. Bouts of two or three times daily but that's about it.

I don't often get random erections. Sometimes, but not nearly as much as most of the men here... I only masturbate once every few days, and usually, if i have gone without masturbating for more than a few days i get frequent random erections. So, in short, probably 2-3 times a day. It's actually hard to think about because it is so... normal?

How ridiculous your challenge. As if you know my friends (decades long friendships) and contacts (known for years) better than I do. Give it a rest.

As a 24 year old male I can't say I get random erections. Are you guys talking about say, doing your taxes and without a single sexy thought in mind getting an erection? I can't relate to that. If my thoughts stray and go that direction then I might get one, but much less than 6 times a day. Perhaps 2 times.

Me too. I sometimes prep a masturbation kit by the bed on nights I go to sleep very horny but too tired to beat off; I know I'll wake up insanely horny. Masturbation kit includes a tube of Astroglide and a cum rag.

It's not uncommon to have less. Hormones, psychological aspects, and physical activity (docile tends to mean less of everything) can effect it. Some will be at 10, 6, 2, or even less. Everyones different, but it isn't weird to be at any of those numbers.

Just needing to go to the bathroom while I am busy with something can cause one. I always thought it was funny how needing to go can cause something that makes it harder to do so.

A persons view of sex can decrease it, such as feeling uncomfortable about the topic or having an aversion to the physical aspects of excitement. Things like working out/lifting weights/regular cardio also have the ability to increase it. The closer to optimal health the body is, the more likely it is to become excited with ease or regularity. This is because the body has excess resources to allocate to more procreation. Body systems in general tend to all work better when they are used, and can have cross synergy. Testosterone production is effected by diet, activity, genetics, and psych health as well; and it effects all aspects of male health.

Same reason women can stop having their period if they are severely underweight. The methodology of the male biological functions has the same priorities. 1. Self survival, 2. Procreation.

How many immediate physical aspects are being overlooked here, that could contribute?

Size and/or individual-relative sensitivity, pants cut/size, contact fabric texture; skivvies and bed sheets, etc.

All results are in for my cyber poll whereby none currently or consistently experienced six involuntary woodies per day, although they too experienced them during their teenage to early adulthood years. But the vast majority of the polled results came from men who are in long-term relationships or married which means they're getting regular sex. The single guys are also not the types who have difficulties dating.

Too many assumptions, and you should really include an age range and if they are physically active/in shape (or just living the married desk job life)

Looks like I hit a...errr...sensitive spot, daring to challenge assumptions in the opening post by polling externals. Is being easily aroused an indication of male virility or something? Sounds mucho silly if so.
