There aren't really many threads about cars, bikes, motorcycles, tools, (heavy, light)machinery, (small, big, real, in-game) guns, (self defense, ancient, toy) weapons, (musical, technical) instruments, (electronic) gadgets, graphic designs (just on packagings or whatever, furniture etc. Which I find weird for a forum so big as this. But I don't really care about it either. Just curious what you all think about it. Do you appreciate something well built? That just feels good riding it or playing it or shooting it, or sawing, drilling with it, or just having it. And what about looks vs. performance? More expensive high-tec things or a simple things one guy build in his garage?
I don't like cars and motors at all but I do have some that I find more better looking than others. With bikes, I like those old Triumph looking bikes, I once found one that was almost perfect, this doesn't look much like it but it is the best I could find. The one I found almost perfect, was very minimalistic looking in what was in it (the engine and whatever else is in a motor), and also the paint (I think I would prefer no paint even, just the metal, don't know if the metal used in bikes is what I find good looking but whatever): To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. And with cars I forgot the name of the car, I thought it was a Nissan and it looks more like a toy car but supposedly it has a lot of power, I also thought it was TEH car in a Need for Speed game on the PS2 because it was so popular. I looked up Nissan Skyline because that ringed a bell in my head, but it doesn't look as cool as I remember. Anyone know if it is the Skyline or am I talking about another car? I think it was the skyline that I once saw in a video and thought looked cool, but I remember it being cooler/over the top/flashier/toylike. Maybe what I saw was geniously "pimped up" or something. Skyline: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Musical instruments. I did have quite the erections for guitars. I had points in my life where I really wanted to buy a stratocaster, telecaster, les paul, explorer, flying v, jag-stang, that Kirk Hammet guitar and probably some others I forgot. I actually bought a jag-stang, but it looked way better in pictures than in real. This was the picture I found the most appealing, but once I got it in my hands it quite sucked. Kurt Cobain forgot to say how thick he wanted it on all places of the body, so it is just a plank, lol: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. It is a very versatile guitar, you can get it to make sooooo much different sounds, but I never really liked any sound reeeeally much, so I looked for a Les Paul. An esp ltd. Les Paul. The guy on the internet didn't have pictures of it but assured it was in perfect state. Turned out it was a different model than what I asked, but it was just slightly different, but still felt shitty about it. This is what I ended up with. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Really just a perfect trash-metal guitar, nothing wrong with it, but you can't do much else with it. At the time I also was quite bored with playing guitar so I didn't put in a different element at the neck (and keep the other element in it for the trash metal stuff) in it for a more shorter/jazzier/popish/tastier bite sound I was looking for, eventhough I could do it for free (or more like trade it) and just had to bring my guitar to a guy I knew who would do it for me. It came with those 2 popular emg elements which almost every metal guitar has, emg-81 I believe. Also had a supersweet cheap spanish guitar, played soooooooo easy, ofcourse I thought that because it was the guitar I started with, but al my friends thought it was awesome too. Maybe I also prefer trumpets (and trombones maybe) over other blowing instruments, atleast brass I guess, cause you can't really compare it to flute or whatever that category of blowing instruments is called. Like in this video, how can you find the saxophone cooler?!?!?!: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. The sound of this trumpet is awesome too, it's cleaned up and echoed as hell if it is even a real trumpet but it just sounds so cool: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. I absolutely hate the sound of drums by itself. Most songs are always better with drums (including the kind of drums I don't like the sound from without the other music), but drum solos I almost always can not stand, unless they have a really cool sounding drumset. I like almost any other of percussion instrument individually so I find it weird that drums are so common in most music. Computers. Well the housings. I have this cool sci-fi, clinic, medical, Apple looking case. Paid quite much for it, but it also had some good specs (mostly noise reducing). Antec p-180. I hate all the gamer computers with their neon lights and cheap kids toys looks trying it to look like you have a I dunno evil war machine to destroy the world, with flames and tribal tattoos on it y'know. Don't know shit about guns, but I always found the M4 good looking and shooting nice in Modern Warfare 1. But in MW1 the "grip"(where you put your left hand) I think looked differnt, which was cooler. Looks kinda like a toy in the same way as that car I was talking about, I guess. Lots of cool man stuff here. You forgot the women though. I have an interest in learning to play the guitar myself. 3 years ago I was very close to buying this guitar which is very similar to a strat:

That's a good guitar for the money, $300 and of better quality than any similarly priced Fender. Are you proficient at playing? That Acer case looks pretty sweet. This my computer I built with a lian li case: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Excellent for de beaking any pigeons you find around your garden. Not only that it's the colour of the handle which really does it, it signals power and strength. A furious beauty one might say. Look at these chicken legs and tell me how they're a match for these pliers. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

Personally, I'm like classic designs most of the time. I don't care if it's a clone, as long as it stays fairly true to the original.
Do I like well built thing? Oh yeah! I also like companies that treat you right when you have a problem with one of their products. It not exactly the product that sells, but the service that a company will stand behind the product with. I will say that I like electronics... but not when they're integrated into my truck, house, and guns because I don't like anyone touching my toys. I don't care much for cars. Trucks [pre fuel injection era]... Dang, that's beautiful. [tears begin to roll down ST's face] I love that old truck more than I love my own kids. "But... you don't have any kids." Exactly. Guns, now that gives me the warm fuzzies. Again, older designs take preference for me. My preferences here include: Handguns: 1911s and single action revolvers. Had a Ruger Blackhawk & sold it. That was stupid and probably a good way to lose any honor that I had. Rifles: Bolt & lever action guns. Never cared to much for semi-autos, except for the AK, SKS and similar breeds. Shotguns: Pump guns and break action single-shots. If I could find a single-shot 12 guage with interchangable choke tubes, I'd snag one in a quick hurry. Gadgets: I have my laptop and Nintendo 3DS so I'm content there. I never cared much for smartphones [I refuse to carry one anyway] anything of the i things [ipod, iphone, etc.]. High defenition screens and top notch sound systems don't really impress me [especially in a vehicle]. I am one of those guys that would sacrifice graphics and sound quality for playability, physics, and the enjoyment factor anyday. I sort of miss the days when the worst thing they said in games was... damn. |

Cars: don't care, used to love them when I was a kid. figured I'd end up with a dodge viper at some point, but now that I could afford it, don't care anywhere near enough to get one:

@Frosted: I just thought about this guitar amp. Roland cube 15 or 20. I remember it being 15 watts but those don't have the effects the 20 don't have, and I'm sure it had echo, reverb, tremollo and stuff. I always played on that amp at a friend's house, had so much fun with it. It had so much cool sounding effects and it you could play really loud with it. When playing loud it couldn't compete with most 30 watt amps and play along drums, but it still sounded loud. It also sounded just a lot better than most other 15 watt amps. It sounded kinda toylike like any other 15-20 watt amp, but just in a cool way instead of a shitty way like with any other amp with that kind of power. That was uhmmm, 6 years ago or something, but that shouldn't matter, I think. So Frosted, you should definitely check that one out if you have the chance, or at least the "Cube" series of Roland. You can check on the internet for similar type amps, I think Line 6 also has some good amps in that pricerange that kinda have the same features.
If you're starting with electric guitar, most online music stores have this "starter pack". Amp, guitar, guitarstrap, picks, cable, tuner, maybe a book, pack of strings and sometimes more. Those are usually very cheap and if you read reviews one starter pack might be exceptionally good for it's price. |

Cars: love em, don't want to pay for them. porsche 356 convertibles/spyders have always done it for me, as have the 911 family. GM is actually doing some impressive stuff with cadillac, subaru +turbo = fun to drive....and that new one is intriguing...no turbo yet but looking like they are going to old school sports car.
Guns: HAHAHAHAHHAHA, not sure exactly how many I own. they are fun. but very purpose built so hard to have one favorite. I like stuff that works, on the rare occasion it doesn't is easy and cheap to fix; glock, sig, and hk handguns, benelli semi-autos and mossberg pumps, remington and howa bolt guns. AR15/M16/M4 family....never bought one complete, have always just built them myself. knives....errr, they're stashed in drawers all over the place. mostly pocket knives, fixed blades last longer for me. kind of picky about steel and performance on things I use often. I love my macbook air. something is wrong with people that don't like gadgets |

Cars...I pretty much own the ones I wanted. Porsche 1986 951 (944 turbo)...and a 1986 944. It's a hobby... I like restoring things. It's a LOT of work. Classic design..
I liked older BMW M3s too...and Porsche 968s. [HIDE="951"] To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
