Research frequently cite that top level executives tend to hail from one of four types: ENTJ, INTJ, ESTJ, ISTJ....but then ENTPs also tend to be quite overrepresented in top level management as well (INTPs not so much), which suggest that the NT temperament overall is the winning business temperament....

My question is, which trait do you think ultimately matters more in winning in the business world: NT-ness or TJ-ness (extroverted thinking-ness)

I agree with both statements above. NJ for innovation, and TJ for managing people. I think NTs would make better choices, but TJs are more likely to climb the corporate ladder.
