I just keep reminding myself about the hundreds of dollars I'll save since I don't have to camp out in a pub for 5 hours before the games start to get a good seat.

Eh. Nucks are a season team. It's like Moneyball. You can build a team that will win the long run, but the playoffs are the only thing that matters. And they are always unpredictable because mentalities change when they playoffs come. Obviously, the Nucks mentality didn't change, b/c they were comfortable with their season game. Lame.

Gooooo Sens.

What I meant to say was, Go Sens go! I can't believe Vancouver bit it so early. Hard to say what they should do... Trade Luongo if there's a market, I guess. Trade the twins? It hurts to even say the words.

Shit, Luongo is GONE. Toronto is the frontrunner I think.

I'm still calling St Louis. Nashville has been good, but let's be honest. The Red Wings aren't a team that could match up really speed wise or especially in the size and physicality department. St. Louis will be a much tougher test.

I don't know if I can take a sixth consecutive sudden death overtime game. Just win in regulation to force a game 7.

GO HAWKS!

I hope the hawks win. The last two upsets have made me average 50%. I thought the Pens and 'Nucks would get the boot in the second round. Them going out in the first really hurt my percentage... bastards.

Then again, how funny would it be if the Coyotes won it all and immediately announced their move to Quebec City?

Random side note while watching the Blackhawks-Coyotes game: as someone who appreciates great uniforms in sports, this series has been a beauty in that regard, especially when Chicago is the home team.

Great striping for both teams. Chicago has some of the best uniforms in all of sports. Phoenix went with kind of a college football look and it works with the simple color scheme. Too bad they're about to move to Quebec City and likely go back to the Nordiques (whose uniforms were also great.)

Anyway, Mike Smith was a beast tonight. The Phoenix-Nashville series is going to be great.

Nice. My brother gave me his blank red Blackhawks jersey a long time ago, but I think he took it back. Haven't seen it in some years. It was gorgeous, though.

^ Errr...I have nothing.

Apparently, they are gonna stop selling those awful plastic rats at the Panthers games. Which is sad, because they may have been the only reason anyone went to games there.

When a team from Nashville beats a team from Detroit, and a team from Miami may very well beat a team from New Jersey...something is wrong in the hockey world. This totally would'a been Atlanta's season had they had one.

I can understand Nashville beating Detroit. Nashville has been a good team for a long time, but hasn't gotten the recognition they deserve. It's hard to get a lot of press when you battle the Red Wings and Blackhawks all year, every year to get into the playoffs. Also, remember that during the trade deadline they added Kostitsyn, Gill and Gaustad. Also they got Alex Radulov back from the KHL while the wings only added Kyle Quincey.

Add to that the fact that they have been battling for first with the Wings and Blues most of the season, and you have a team that presents real problems.

New Jersey on the other hand.... has just been shitty. The Panthers barely got into the playoffs in the first place. A good share of their points the last 10 games of the regular season were from overtime losses (for which I think getting a point for is utter bullshit) even though they played well in the beginning of the season. IMO, the Panthers shouldn't have been able to hold the Devil's jock strap, much less take this to 7 games.

I just meant it in a silly "how are these warm-weather teams beating cold-weather teams?" way, but you make great points.

My friend is a die hard season ticket Rangers fan. He put up his Game 7 tickets for sale at 450$ a pop just to see if some crazy fan would buy them. If they did, it would basically pay for his second round tickets haha.

I'm going to be in the area tomorrow during the time of the game and I'm 100% certain it will be insane.
