Firstly the obligatory 'mea culpa' regarding what I said. To clarify, what I meant when I said that, is the definition and use of the term 'compassion'.

I consider compassion, at it's strongest meaning, to not revolve around material gain, for material gain to not be the primary intent.

So, in fairness, I would have to consider the possibility, that you are compassionate in just such a way.

However, I am very doubtful:

It has resulted in great wealth, stability and satisfaction.

Need is very clearly distinct and unrelated to what you want.

As I already pointed out, you yourself in Post 42 did not use the word "need" in accordance with the distinction you're trying to make - and neither do most people except when using technical jargon. But never mind, if that is what you mean by "need" when you say that the earth can provide for everyone's needs, then OK, that just makes the statement completely uninteresting. The human race (with of course the possible exception of one or two people such as yourself) is not going to go back to a state where we have to scrimp along with nothing but what you call needs, so the question of whether the planet would be able to meet those sorts of needs is of no significance to us.

As a matter of fact very few pursue their desires. People are naturally lazy.

The people you call "naturally lazy" just happen to desire - and hence pursue - relaxation more than the other things that you assume they "desire". You said yourself earlier that discomfort stimulates ingenuity, and (although I pointed out that this is not necessarily a reason for subjecting people to discomfort), your statement did have some truth in it - because one of the things that many people want is to avoid discomfort (even if only because it disturbs their relaxation), and the ingenuity that you mention arises from the fact that, contrary to your assertion, they do indeed pursue this desire to avoid discomfort, and are ingenious in doing so.

This thread is dedicated to you, as an expression of planet Earth. You have succeeded. Your hard work has paid off and the entire planet sees exactly what you see. Whatever you believe, they believe. Wiccan, Atheist, Pagan, Daoist, Muslim, Jewish, or Christian; yours is the only belief left and everyone has consigned to your faith.

It is 200 years in the future. What is the logical conclusion of your faith?

Well, for one, my faith says that only the most keen and serious of potential converts, should be allowed to convert, as it's a hard life in my faith, and everyone else can get into Heaven by only keeping 7 things, most of which most people agree with anyway. So I would find it hard to believe that everyone has converted to my faith.

But, seeing as the cornerstones of my faith, are seeking truth via practical reason, and seeking peace by following the Golden Rule and all of its consequences, the logical conclusion of my faith, would be everyone in it, being nice to everyone, helping everyone out, being thankful and appreciating everything we have, and spending most of our days studying morality and what would help us all to be nicer to each other.

What problems has your view resolved?

Well, the Golden Rule suggests that war is rather disadvantageous to those who die in it. So that's out.

Same for people dying of starvation, hunger, lack of medicine, etc. So I expect that hardly anyone would die of it anymore.

It also devalues the search for money. So most people live on little money, but by choice, and are happy with it.

For that reason, economic crashes aren't much of a problem anymore, because no-one cares that much about money anymore.

It also suggests that everyone should hook up with ONE partner, for as long as possible, and stick to that sort of thing. So dating is probably very straightforward, and nearly everyone has a partner.

Oh, and it also suggests that we should not waste resources. So problems like man-made climate change, are probably over, and what is left to sort out, is already being sorted out.

Oh yeah. It's also against unnecessary cruelty to animals. So now, animals get treated very nicely, even the ones that are used to make meat.

What new aspects of life now exist?

Well, my religion requires that people do not speak nastily about each other, even if it's true. So slander and libel are now taken VERY seriously.

It's also big on charity. But to help people as much as possible, and no taking cuts of the money. So there are big charity drives every week to help people, and you are regularly invited to spot-check the charity runners, so you can see that they are doing their job.

What has been lost (and do you miss it)?

Pointless arguments. Gossip. Rape. Murder. Injustice. No.

What does government look like?

Tiny. Most of the work that government did, people now do, because in my faith, it says that it is much better to do something yourself, than to leave it to others, even if you paid them to do it.

How about family, work, and trade?

Same. But now, everyone gets on. Oh, yeah, and it requires that you give your partner regular sex, and she has an orgasm every time. So sex is GOOD, at least, for the women.

How is the economy run - is there even money anymore?

Money exists. But no-one takes it that important anymore. As long as you have enough for 3 meals, then everyone is happy, and anyone who doesn't, has lots of people giving them food.

That would be the case, if everyone followed all the laws.
