I will go a step further and say that he is definitely IxTJ. I was uncertain about the 'N' though. He said that he doesn't have much imagination, yet has a great memory. Hmm. |

Tesla the most important person in your list in my opinion.
Exactly what he invented is still being debated. |

Thane is ISTP, Samara is ISTJ. Shepard is quite clearly ENTJ. The only possible INTJ I can think of is the Illusive Man, but it's hard to tell due to his limited screen time and the limited amount of knowledge we have about him. He definitely gives off that "vibe", though, and his interaction style fits.

Isn't Shepard whatever you want him to be? Sure he is a leader, but his leading style is whatever you make of it. I agree with you on the personality of the Illusive Man; he is probably an INTJ or INTP (maybe we'll be able to type him better after Mass Effect 3). |

The only thing you can change about him is whether he's a badass renegade style ENTJ or a morally concerned type ENTJ, or at the very least EXTJ. The in-charge style and planning still point to a specific type; as you should know, whether you're "good" or "evil" has nothing to do with your type. |

Isn't that a bit of a simplification? After all you're not just choosing to be ethically 'good' of 'evil', you also choose how you deal with (wo)men in (romantic) realtionships, you choose to kill or not to kill certain characters, you choose strategies and teams, you choose to be sensitive to other characters needs etc. All these choices have a lot to do with how you want 'your' Shepard to be as a personality. And although Shepard is a leader in every scenario, he can be very different in his approach. One time he is a classic ENTJ-type leader and at other times he might be more feeling leader. |

He is definitely J because he is very dependable with his job, and has certain habits, etc. Yes, that's true, he does think about possibilities... Still not sure, however. Anyone else have an opinion on this? |

The God-Emperor/Tyrant/Godīs Prophet/Leto II from Dune, though that can pretty much be said for most of the major characters throughout the series, especially the ones with the gift/curse of prescience.

I've heard Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke are also INTJs.

Remember his thoughts when he was put in prison. About the death sentence and so... I think it seemed like a person with N. Maybe we should think why he could be S. Because he simplifies everything surrounding him? Does he? |

In the professional go/baduk/weichi community, most of other top-notch pro go players seem to be xNFJ/xNTPs.
Cho Hunhyun (9d): INTJ (pretty sure) Kong Jie (9d): INTJ (suspected) |

Yep, I always felt like I was divided between Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty. They are clearly facets of the same "personality" type.

To the OP:
It's difficult to list many famous INTJs-- most of you don't find the limelight especially helpful or desirable. I would say the INTJ brand of influence is more about directing the play than it is about being the star performer. When I worked in politics, I saw many effective INTJ strategists (triply redundant? I'll go for the last two, at least.) None of these individuals held elected office. Strategy is much easier to manage and implement out of the public eye-- and you guys are all about efficiency, right? Some political INTJs, according to me: Maria Shriver, Karl Rove, Sun Tzu, and Machiavelli. My intuitions about some of the other people listed: * Arnold Schwarzenegger - actor, Governor of California =ESTJ * Donald Rumsfeld - former U.S. Secretary of Defense =ENTJ * General Colin Powell - former U.S. Secretary of State =ISTJ * Jane Austen - author (Pride and Prejudice) =INFJ * Lance Armstrong - cyclist (seven Tour De France wins) =ISTP
