Avatar image specifications

I have tried to upload 3 different images, each time I got the message that it was an invalid image. Two of the images I am currently using on other forums. So what are the requirements on the specifications of an image that is to be used as an avatar. I can can make it in photoshop.

If you go to User CP, then edit avatar, and scroll down, it will state:

Avatar Rules
Dimensions must be exactly 115 x 145 pixels.
File size must 20kb or less.
No border.
No transparency.
No animation.
No text.
