According to NASA the Perseid Meteor shower peaked this morning around 7 am EDT (1100 GMT). It will continue until about 8/24.
I've been looking forward to viewing this event all year and guess what? I missed it! In my area the sky has been overcast and there's been a lot of rain. I did catch a few "shooting stars" on 8/9. Hopefully the weather will clear up in the next few days and I can catch a bit more, but I'm still bummed that I missed the peak. I was planning on posting some pictures on this forum. Maybe next year. Did you catch any of it? |

I caught a few last night, but it was a bit before the peak time and I live in a semi wooded area so I didn't have much sky to look at.
Last year was amazing though, even with the light and trees near my house I was seeing a pretty constant amount. |

I might be able to catch some tonight as the sky is looking clearer. Hopefully it'll stay that way through the night.
Well, I'm already planning on next year. I'm willing to take time off work and travel for prime viewing if it's necessary. |
