OK, here's a serious one. The first one I made was a joke. Let me know if I do have some kind of accent.

Taking after Ntwadumela's example, I too have seen fit to pronounce my username. I'm consistently surprised with how everyone seems to look at it and come up with a completely different pronunciation than I did when I first made it up.

Anyways, I present to you

[HIDE="voice"]Yep, I do have a bit robotic voice probably, at least sometimes, kind of flat. I don't talk much so it's one of my skills I have to improve.
Anybody noticed the 'R'?

Address a group of people. Dunno on what occasion so a greeting is Hi.
Somewhere official probably "Ladies and gentleman", otherwise I guess I don't, it just comes from the conversation itself that I talk to everybody present. Maybe "you".[/HIDE]

Who doesn't know where I am from, then go ahead and guess ^_^

I'm not hearing anything that's phonologically Southern. Your dialectal lexis choices are not really indicative of someone hailing from the South either.

The old vocaroo thread has become full of broken links by now, and I'm still interested in hearing people. There's an old challenge that goes around sometimes for accents. You say certain words that are supposed to be very revealing for whatever region you're from. There are also questions to answer where the words usually depend on where the person is from, as well.

The Words:
Aunt, Roof, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught, Naturally, Aluminum, Envelope

The Questions:
1. What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
2. What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
3. What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
4. What do you call gym shoes?
5. What do you say to address a group of people?
6. What do you call the kind of spider (or spider-like creature) that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
7. What do you call your grandparents?
8. What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
9. What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
10. What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

You can use

to record it. You don't have to sign up and your recording is deleted after a certain amount of time.

Where did you get this list for pronunciation and word choice? Do you still have a link?

(Yes, I was using a generalised script for this. I can't do extemporaneous recorded speech to save my life.)

I don't know anymore, really. I've seen it many places. If you look up "accent challenge" or "accent tag" on YouTube, many things show up that are similar to this.

May possibly be a favorite.
Also, yes, that's how we spell it on this side of the ocean. I never knew that you guys said "aluminium" (is that how you spell it? Even the spellcheck wants to fix it...) until this thread started and some non-American users pronounced it.

My name is Frosted an I'm Irish. Just listen to my Irish accent. I got stumped on question 5 so it stopped there.

I always forget about that when people are restricted.

Your accent at the start was convincing, you sounded from the North East
