Were you/are you plagued with acne? What impact did it/does it have on your self image? Did it/does it affect your social interaction?
How bad was/is it? bad enough for a doctor or just over the counter medicine? Has it stopped? At what age? I think I went through the easy form of acne while I was growing up a few break outs nothing that affected me. I had friends that were plagued with it they were afraid to show their face, I guess I was luck. |

Acne was never an Earth-shattering problem for me. By around the age of 20 I rarely had any pimples showing their ugly faces. I still get a pimple from time to time but usually only when I eat certain foods - particularly gluten-containing grains. I can't really help it though, the siren call of pizza is too overpowering.

Epidermic problems occur when there is a diet consisting largely of iodized salt. Cutting down on foods with iodized salt and replacing with foods high in Vitamin B complex and Vitamin A usually helps with skin issues.

I first started getting acne when I was like 10 or 11. Stupid early puberty. Anyway, I still have it--I'm convinced I'm destined to have it for life--but at least I've got it under control with a clean diet, lots of exercise, and a good skin care regimen. Zinc, B-complex, and vitamin C supplements help a lot, too. I never let acne get in the way of my social life.

I'd say I have low-medium amounts of acne, but it's pretty much all on my back so it doesn't really affect me. I'm through the worst of it anyway and I assume it'll clear up in a couple years.

It was kind of bad for me for a year or two... by the time I was 19 or 20, it was fading away.

I didn't have acne as a teen. I get a pimple now and then nowadays, but no biggie.
