It was once said that love is giving someone the ability to destroy you, but trusting them not to.

I was talking with someone about autism earlier and while explaining the traits of an INTJ and the behavior of her son I noticed a commonality between the two. Is there anything that shows that more people with autism are actually INTJs? Is there really even a way to actually test that theory?

A couple of weeks ago I googled something like this and went on an asbergers/autism forum which had a thread similar to this. I remember somebody coming to the conclusion that the stereotypes of INTJs and people with autism can overlap in many ways.
I think any study correlating MBTI to autism would be skewed because you can't tell the difference between traits caused by autism and traits caused by their personality.

Very interesting topic. I read "Born on a Blue Day" a while ago and remember being shocked at how I identified with some of the author's personality traits. Definitely made me think about it.

Some of the personality traits overlap superficially, but there are also a lot that don't, at least in the case of the (mildly) autistic friend I had.

Shadow could be right here. The manifestations of Asperger's Syndrome look vividly INTJ'ish... bu I'm not sure they are expressions of MBTI preferences.

I was diagnosed with asperger at the age of 10, but lately I have been thinking that, because of my personality, I had aspergers

Yeah, I read a book narrated by an autistic last fall, it was sort of interesting for me, noting similarities and differences. I wonder if it's just our type that has these overlaps.

People with Asperger's have a high probability of being intelligent. Anyone with seemingly intelligent qualities could be mistaken for similar traits that rationals have. I have a friend with Asperger's, though I'm sure she's a feeler.
