Everyone does both anyway, so it really isn't a fair question, but I'll say lie because I (like most people) will probably lie in the near future but I have no intention of dying any time soon if I can help it.

Would you rather die peacefully, perhaps in your sleep, or die somewhat painfully while in action doing something for whatever greater good you believe in, be it your country, your religion, your loved ones, something else entirely, or some combination thereof?
