and why? Is it a realistic fear? How much control does it have over your life? Are you willing to conquer this fear? If so, what would it take for you to do so? When should you start?

I don't fear anything. I realize it is a survival mechanism but I won't let myself be controlled by something that could make you vulnerable. I had to break several fears a child though and eventually did. If I have a fear then I don't know what it is yet but for now the answer is that I don't fear anything.

After getting in a car crash when my breaks gave out yesterday, I fear driving old cars.

Crowds. I always assume that any large group of people is one beer and a rumor away from becoming an angry mob.

Irrational people. I have a big fear of having a confrontation with one.

This might be outside the spirit of the question but I fear a police state. When I was younger I read 1984 and Animal Farm way to many times...

Cancer. I have know several people who have died of cancer. My partner has had two different kinds of cancer and been through chemotherapy twice. It was terrible. His mouth and entire intestinal tract was covered in lesions he couldn't even drink water and had to be on I.V. He also had a blood clot from the port a cath and almost had a stroke. Cancer is so prevalent I consider it a real possibility.

I fear dogs, heights and bears, in that order.

Yes, and no. Dogs can bite me, so that is a realistic fear. But then again, most dogs are domesticated, and don't bite humans unless provoked, so it's not very realistic. Heights, especially high heights, can kill you if you fall down from one. So that's a realistic fear. Then again, most heights one experiences can't kill you, including bridges, staircases and elevators. Bears have an immense power, and can easily tear through a human being in seconds. Then again, I live in the city. I have virtually no risk of being subject to an enraged bear. And even a bear in the wild will be hesitant to attack a human, we smell poisenous (from hair products, colognem soap, deturgent, etc) and we look and sound different from other animals. Still, there's a risk.

I guess I'd sum up all that with no, no it's not rational.

Virtually none. Dogs are usually on leeshes, and most owners keep them away from strangers, especially strangers that proclaim they have a fear of dogs. Heights are voluntary. I dare to claim that there are no heights that sneak up on people and force themselves under the victim. You can go up on a high place, or refuse. And, in times when I have had to cross a high bridge, I have crossed it. Faced my fear and all that. Lastly, I never come in contact with bears and very seldom the areas where bears live, so it doesn't effect me at all.

No, it'd take more energy than it would pay off.

Nothing.

I don't really fear anything. There are things that are out of my control, and there are things that bother me, but I do not fear any of them.

I have an extreme phobia of spiders, but not just any type. It's cellar spiders, aka daddy long leg spiders. Everyone thinks I'm crazy because they say that is the least scary type of spider. I'm not scared of tarantulas or black widows or any other bug or animal, but if I encounter a cellar spider the fear is intense and lasts all day. Even now I am feeling anxiety typing about them. The worst part is when I lived with my parents they were all over the house.

I would only be willing to conquer my fear very gradually and only if I still lived with my parents or somewhere where there are so many because I know I will come into contact with them. But now I live in an apartment and there are not any daddy long legs here so I am not planning to overcome my fear since I won't be encountering them anyways. At least I hope not.

I don't fear anybody but almost everybody makes me cautious until I slip in to the imagination.

Realistic: I'm afraid of dying alone. Literally. I'd like someone to be there.

Not so realistic, but yeah kinda: I'm afraid of bears. Luckily, I'm not a deer.

Spiders & clowns... *shudder*

Realistic? We have tons of poisonous spiders, including the Brown Recluse where I live, so, yeah, I would consider it realistic... And clowns... they just can't be trusted....

Am I willing to conquer it? Absolutely not. No way in hell. Spiders are nasty and dangerous and they cling to you & bite & they hang in their little gravity defying blankets of doom & wait for unsuspecting people to walk face first into a vortex of sticky despair... and as if THAT weren't enough, some of those eight legged abominations are poisonous! Add to that that they come in sizes from itty bitty, small enough to lie in wait in cracks in the wall to big enough to probably leave a dent in a car if you hit one, which is totally unnecessary, by the way. They're just.... no. Just.. No. I'd rather they be wiped off the planet, along with clowns... who are just pure evil. Balloon animal making evil...

Also, I'm afraid of being alone for the rest of my life & becoming a cat lady.

I fear being without a social support network of some sort.

My introverted nature makes me tend toward isolating myself, but that also means I don't have much of a safety net should I ever need it. I've often thought about how dreadful it would be to have absolutely no one in the world to turn to. In many ways, I think it is a good fear to have, it forces me to be more extroverted.

I fear the fat woman thinking that I am an easy target just because I love women in general.

Doesn't have much control over my life because I can easily fuck thin women.

Not willing to conquer this fear.

My biggest fears have to do with my son; he is 5 years old. I fear that he may be a target for bullying in later years. The thought of anyone picking on him breaks my heart. I believe my fear is realistic and that scares me even more...
