GW 2 will probably become the first mmo I'll ever pay for.

Sylvari are kinda gay, sort of like elves.

Except they're plants, and aren't super-old like elves are, they're all very, very young (in terms of how long they've been around).

Charr....haha....so cliche and over the top.

I wouldn't say cliche, or over the top. They were cliche before GW:EOTN came out, since at first they just seemed like chaotic animals that wanted to kill and eat humans and take their land. But then their backstory got fleshed out, and while I still hate them (they kill and eat humans and take our land) I think they're much more interesting than they were.

ArenaNet sent out an email yesterday saying that they will soon be sending invitations for their beta testing. From what I understand, over a million people registered for the beta test, and I'm thinking that there are at most, 10000 slots. So that makes your odds of getting an invitation is no more than 1%?

Good luck!

Currently pretty giddy about the game. I already know that I will spend HOURS UPON HOURS in the character creation section ... it's glorious

Apparently you get 5 character slots. I'm already pondering which professions I'll choose, and which race / profession combinations ...

I really want to play a female Asura warrior, to channel the spirit of my gorgeous little gnome warrior on WoW :D

There will be a Necromancer and a Engineer - well, we will see what the races will add to it

A human thief, commoner, dignified, never knew his parents, most important virtue is determination, dedicated to Kormir. I'm doing it because my main character in GW1 is an Assassin.

Nothing really. No race is better at any class than another. All they get are a different appearance, different armor (because of their physiology), race-specific skills, and very different stories. A Sylvari Engineer isn't better or worse than a Charr Engineer. An Asura Warrior isn't better or worse than a Norn Warrior. (even if they are tiny)

Yep, but that's what I mean: I do not know how you can style up the characters. That I am going to see when the game arrives and the character editor is availible

Of course it's still different from trying it out yourself, though.

I think we only get 5 slots, so it's not easy to decide ...
I have no interest playing Charr, they're too brutal for me.

What I wanna play:

- Norn female, they're proud and awesome. Maybe Guardian, maybe Elementalist.

- Human male Necromancer who's very thin and emo looking. :D

- Asura female, they're cute! Warrior, Thief or Mesmer.

- Sylvari female, Elementalist or Thief.

- Sylvari male, Mesmer, Thief or Elementalist

And I'd also kinda like to play a Human female, but we only get 5 slots, and I'm not too happy with how most female humans look like barbie dolls. If I played one, she'd be a hardcore Guardian or Warrior or something like that. And she'd look kick-ass!

I'm not really interested in the Engineer or Ranger yet. Might also change of course.

In GW1 they were more like rabbit-people and were definitely cuddlier. I miss the old designs D:

You can change their build. You can make a muscular, fat, average, or scrawny character if you want. They don't have to look like action figures or Barbies if you don't want them to. I think there are at least 8-10 options for your physique.

Engineers have grenades, flamethrowers, elixir guns (mediguns from TF2 basically), mines, turrets, super gadgets...dual pistols, pistol and shield, or rifle...a Sylvari engineer will be my third character, after the human thief and Norn warrior.

There isn't much difference in the physiques you can choose from, and 8 physiques without the ability to tune is very little. And all faces no matter how much you tweek them look a bit anime/barbie. Even the Norn faces look friendly anime/barbie, the men have some cool rough skin designs, though. The Norn men physiques also look a bit too Gears of War for me. With ridicilous big shoulders/chest/arms and the rest very small in comparison. I like ridicilous muscles on my character but not in that weird form.

AnnaMolly with her emo, sylvaris and elemantalists hahahahahaha.

Do male mesmers still look like they belong on a gay Mardi Gras parade float? Because I might actually buy it and play one if that's the case.

Kind of worried about this game being free to play and my impending death by a 1000 microtransactions.

Personally very worried that the barbershop will work via microtransactions D:

I'm fine with paying real cash for a complete character change (i.e. face, gender, height, etc.), but if I just want to get a new haircut or -color for my character? Pleeeeeease let that be purchasable with in-game currency. I change my WoW characters' hair weekly. At least.

Oh, and I also hope the Norn tattoos are changeable in the barbershop, then. Cause if they aren't, I'll never have my Norn wear "bold" tattoos, like the ones that go across the eyes. I find them quite awesome and would love to wear them occasionally, like facepaint for important battles

but I don't want to be stuck with them permanently.
