An Introduction.......

Hello everyone and hope you're having a good day. QAfter a certain amount of study & consideration, I think that this forum may actually be worth my time and some level of contribution and so I've decided to unveil myself with a brief introduction for everyone:

My "lifes story" inna nutshel:

Was raised in foster homes amd I was never adopted. While always aware of my parents, the one was unable to care for me and the other chose not to.

(They were an interesting pair: My father attended the Minneapolis Institute of Art and my mother was a pianist with the Twin Cities orchestra - they hooked up in what was no doubt a passionate affair - I was one of the results)

At 13 I was tested as having an IQ of 144 (age/ratio method) and most teachers began to treat me as if I were a threat to their pension. I have been on my own essentially since about 14 and though I lived as a sometime teenage street urchin, I was not, however some aimless teenage kid. I had visions, dreams & goals for my life and I had a plan as to make it all happen.

At 18 I enlisted in the military where I served for years with the Joint DOD Special Forces Community as a Combat Medic/ Resuce & Intelligence Specialist. Been thru 2 wars, 3 skirmishes, 23 countries, 4 continents - been around the world in a variety of settings & cultures having seen and/or experienced both the best and worst of Humanity.

I left it all as "dyin' ain't much of a way to make a living"; there's no money in it and it was my perception that most spoiled Americans don't really care anyway........

I moved on; finished my education - my degrees are in Mathematics and Geodetic Engineering; obtained my professional licensure; built my busines and built a life - all of it from scratch and by design envisioned from my teenage years. Today its a very good one and I don't know anyone on a personal level whose overall quality of life I would consider better than my own: Educationally, Professionally, Materialistically, Financilally, Health - emotional, mental, physical, Life's travels, achievments and experiences..........all of it.

Rationally - I'm atheist - the concept of "god" just doesnt' make any sense to me.

Scientifically - I'm agnostic - I don't think that with todays scientific knowledge and ability we can either prove nor disprove if there is a god.

"Spiritually" & Philosophically - I'm a Natural Pantheist - a doctrine equating "god" with the forces and laws of Nature and the Universe.

Religion to me is the biggest bane known to Humanity and the qwikker we can rid it from the specie - the better - it no doubt will take at least another 4 to 5 thousand years of the evolutionary prcess - assuming we aren't first blown to extinction.

Politically - I'm probably best described as a moderate to conservative Libertarian , although I tend to think that political affiliations are only one step above those of a religious orientation. At this stage of our evolution as a specie, however, its the best we have - so I deal with it.........

Free & Critical Thinker - oh yes! - ........and in as much as I think most persons are mindless idiots and am continually amazed at how most of them manage to survive here on the planet for as long as what they do, I apply the concept daily.
