Who here plays Dungeons and Dragons? What game version do you play? I play 3.5.
Any of you here a DM? What type of characters have you played as? I am going to play a Chaotic Evil Paladin of Slaughter named Sebastian Bores in an upcoming campaign... :-) I was curious if anyone would like to see the character and give feedback... |

I wouldn't mind playing it, if I could ever get a local group organized to do so. |

Don't play DND, but other RPGs. Currently EON, a Swedish RPG. I am a DM, and have been for some 20 years now.

Haven't played in ages. The old game group all grew up and aren't around no more, so I tried to hook up with a group down at the comic shop. Wow, I felt old (37). DMd some in the old days, and I honestly enjoyed it more than playing. My characters tended to be "plain" fighters. I liked playing the farm kid caught up in history. I always handicapped them to a degree as well. Characters that don't have 12+ stats make the game more challenging.

I used to play dungeons and dragons when I was younger(I played Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment, Neverwinter Nights, and Dragon Age) but I don't play these games anymore. I never played pen and paper DND but I did try once with a friend for about twelve or so minutes. I don't play these games anymore, looking at pixels is really mainly just wasting time.

I've never played but it has interested me. Like Cincinnatus, I just need to find people who want too. (Wait, do I need friends?)

I've played on and off since I was ten years old. We still play monthly. Our group is currently playing 4e. I've played all of the editions, but most of my time has been in first and fourth editions.
I have primarily been a player, but spent a lot of my teens and late twenties running campaigns. My campaigns tend to have a lot of puzzles and mysteries built into them in addition to pure combat. As a player I tend to play rangers and some warrior types. I prefer the mobility of the ranger with moderate armour |

AD&D 2.5, but I haven't played in forever. I'm more into starting a game of Call of Cthulhu. WOTC got permission from Chaosium to make a game a while back. You can use the book with D&D. Sanity points woot!

It's been years since I've played D&D. I've played 1st-3.5 edition and have been both a player and a DM. I tend to like being a player more than a DM though because I have so much fun screwing up the DM's plans

I used to play with some friends from work, it was great fun.
My character was a bard-barbarian named Joey DeMaio (after the dude from MANOWAR). The DM allowed Joey to play metal on his bass guitar as a special skill. Indoors, Joey could play the sound of metal so loud it cracked the beams and bring down the roof upon his enemies. Later on, Joey acquired a mop from an old mansion the guild was exploring and declared it to be, "Stanley Spadowski's Mop" and was able to use it as a nonlethal weapon. It was awesome until this asshole monster that had some sort of rust power rusted the fucking mop head off, reducing it to a simple staff. |

28 years, tabletop. Played all incarnations of DnD, from Basic to Advanced, 1st edition all the way up to 4th edition but didn't like it much.
I've played all types of characters, all types of alignments and classes. We also play a lot of Call of Cthulhu, and we went through a few years of playing a LOT of storyteller system (White Wolf) in the 90s. |

I used to play back in Illinois with my friends. We created our own world, rule sets, and classes though in an attempt to make the game more difficult and somewhat more realistic. My friends still play now and again but there is no way for me to participate though I'm told I've popped up as an npc here and there.
Everything was based off the dnd/d20 system and reworked when needed from there. They also made up a survival horror version that I never got to play. I always wanted to write a book set in the world we created but I lack the talent. |

After playing Eon for so long, how much of the book keeping are you doing and are there many rules that you've decided to ignore? Also, are you aware of and if so interested in the next version they're going to release? |

Used to play when younger, enjoyed it at that time. Not been a DM, characters - like the challenge of getting into the different alignments and classes rather than having a set one to play but in saying that had one character I took into every dungeon so she became a favourite from familiarity and development of her skills and abilities. Loved being immersed in an imaginative world with others and the time disappearing ... like a waking dream with others in a fantasy landscape... similar to that movie Inception. Don't like the computer versions, not the same.

I've been playing for years, mostly in 3.5- right now, I'm DMing a game online, and running a game DMed by my brother. For the most part, however, I only use the system; not the content. I appreciate their effort, but WotC's sense of balance is crap.

I've played 3.5, as it is the version with the most documentation. I never actually played the game for much, but I appreciate the d20 system and use it extensively in my own endeavors.

Omniblade and I are currently working on putting together a custom online D&D game. I am the acting DM and have created a pretty epic universe for the game to take place in so far. People are more than welcome to join; we have made a little forum for sharing ideas and stuff, it’s all custom made to. The systems, worlds, creature etc. are all original made by us. So it will be a unique experience even for old time players.
I only like to use more original concepts and designs. I have no desire to add traditional races like Elves, Ogres, Dwarves or even Humans to the game (although I still might add Earth I’m not sure yet). Rather it takes place on a variety of different planets as well as planes of existence of which will all be based on different sizes that make up the physical universe (atomic, microbial, celestial, ect) And the whole design is based off a tweaked version of my understanding of metaphysics and science. So far I have a sentient jungle world that floats freely thru space, a gas giant on which are a special kind of biotech creature that essentially designs its own body out of various metals floating thru the atmosphere and an ocean world where the entire atmosphere is held onto it by a viscous algae that feeds off of space radiation and has created a bubble around the whole planet. Just to name a few. I’m trying to keep all the systems open ended so you can make your own races, items, magic, etc. The primary quest is long as fuck to. There are 23 different realms altogether ranging from material to abstract each one having a plethora of stuff to do. And we could use any neat ideas we can get. So if you're interested just PM me or Omni and we will shoot you a link to our little concept forum. |

Man, the nerds up at my job are starting up our old guild/storyline again that we stopped doing a couple years back. They haven't invited me to return as my old character. Fucking assholes.

You should dress as your character then go up there and slay them. |

Played Pen-and-Paper games for about 12yrs. now. We play a heavily modified version AD&D that we have sort of built up over the years, alongside numerous other pen-and-paper games.

That's a fucking good idea, dude. Put on some fucking furry panties and grab the mop out of the back room at my job and start wailing on them. My character's weapon was nonlethal so it wouldn't be a big deal.
