I've family members I barely knew pass away. Never even really flinched. All immediate family is kicking, so I don't know how I would respond. But so far, losing a pet has been one of the only things that I've shed a tear over in the past five or so years.

I feel the consensus will be not many cry for any random reason. But as I get older, I've noticed myself start to at least get emotional about things that happen in real life to other people/even movies. I know it's because I understand things a lot more now, and can empathize. But these things still don't trigger tears.

It's amazing how cathartic a good cry is when issues weigh heavily on you. Just like laughter. And I really fought it back today when I heard about my pup when I was at work. Had to hold it together until I got home. People noticed my mood had changed but I couldn't tell them else I knew I would break down.

Emotions are funny things.

The only things I cry at, I cry at in a good way. I never cry when things are bad, because.... well, I'd be crying all the time, hehehe.

Saying that though, I don't remember the last time I cried... not much makes me want to cry, when I feel really bad I either just want to hurt myself (not that I do), or hurt someone else (which I wish I could, hehehe).

Look, I cry during some commercials. And practically every film. But when something bad happens I usually have a lot of adrenaline so I just go into action mode and I feel very calm. Then I cry a lot later when the shock wears off. Sometimes it's much, much later.

Has anyone ever seen that movie, "Hachi"? About the guy and his dog? Jesus, I cried like a baby, it was absolutely horrific.

Cruelty to animals, and seeing them in pain, I can't sit through those awful PETA commercials. They make me cry like a bitch. I tried to watch a thing about dog fights (like with Pitbulls) and when they talked about how they used the ones who don't like to fight as target practice for the mean ones and showed a dog who'd been so abused and neglected for so long (I'll spare the details) that his injuries couldn't be remedied without causing him a ridiculous amount of suffering so they had to put him down the waterworks started up and I had trouble sleeping.

I can watch things on humans of various ages (yes, including children) getting abused and mangled every which way all day, and it gets nothing out of me, but animals turn me into a weepy mess almost instantly.

I don't cry that much but when I do it's usually brought on by an overload of work, things that are expected of me by other individuals or stress that I haven't analyzed and has just sort of skimmed in the back of my head for awhile.

When my grandfather died I didn't cry. I've never actually cried when anyone related to me has died. I can't for certain say that I just don't react in the 'normalized' way when someone dies because I've never actually had anyone close to me die, but I guess I'll figure that out one of these days.

I've cried over films and episodes of television though, not necessarily for the characterization but sometimes for the special effects, music and script. Books too.

The last time I cried I was maybe 14 and I can't remember what it was about, so I dont really cry anymore. I just get infuriated when feeling really down.

-Being a child and getting beaten.
-Only the beginning montage in "Up" made me shed a tear.

I would assume the death of a loved one would, but I haven't experienced it.
This list will be longer when I become older.

I've noticed this myself.

I cried recently when I witnessed a group of people laughing about someone who felt like crap about themselves. Was disgusted to be a human being.

Like True Rune, stress also makes me more prone to crying jags. Financial stress in particular is responsible for a lot of tears at my house.

My son told me about his best friend at school who's glasses got knocked off his desk and broke and his family can't afford to replace them (he's 10). I cried my brains out. Now we will try to fix this without embarassing anyone. I don't think my kids have ever seen me cry before.

I cry when I see animals being harmed or even happy things related to animals (when the dogs came back on Homeward Bound). I don't think I have ever cried about a person dying (only once with a close family member). I cried during a documentary about humans finally reaching the moon...
Other than those things, I barely cry.

Displays of brotherly love and loyalty get me every time. Irony too, sometimes, if it's heavy and profound; like a character in a story turning himself inside out at the last second and coming to the rescue. Beauty in humanity, I think, is what does it...at least by my own definition of beauty.

1) when a close relative dies ie. someone i actually care about. 2) when i'm drowning in self pity, but other than that i don't cry that much. i'm kinda known for being cold blooded.

An abortive attempt, when people don't live up to their potential, it hurts, when I expected more, and i feel as though they let me down, damn it, makes me feeling like crying, although the after affect is usually, Punish Them.
