I hear about many girls being attracted to skinny guys, and I also hear many being attracted to a muscular guy (which seems obvious to me). I understand people have different preferences, and I am not asking you to generalize the question or create a predictive model out of it (like our INTJ selves are inclined to do).
What is your particular preference and why? This is a question for females, not males |

Strictly physically speaking, I can't get it up for a bag of bones.

But I am glad men are saying they don't want bags of bones.
As for men, I like athletic. Not skinny or too muscular. But most importantly tall either way.

As for me, I like 'em sort of in-between, but hedging more for muscular with not too low of a bf%. I don't like it when the muscles look too cut. Hugh Jackman wins.

I'm a male so I'm not going to state a preference but here's my opinion from things I've read along the way. Basically physical looks/attraction are health indicators and it's been proven that people who are overweight but exercise tend to be healthier than people that don't exercise period. So with that in mind I'm guessing muscular>skinny also you have to remember to take your desired girl into account. Artistic girls tend to like the skinny boys in girls jeans look but a ditsy girl at the bar would probably prefer muscles...again that's just a generalization and every girl is different but just sculpt your body to look the way YOU prefer and you'll be fine

I meant men. Never hear a man say he likes a bag of bones. Men generally speaking don't love anorexics.

I'd prefer skinny over muscles. I really don't want a guy to care more about his looks than I care about mine!

Lean, thin and spritely with surprise-me strength! Normal amount of body fat, don't like the word 'skinny'.

Hm, somewhere in between? Slim, slender. With some muscles, sure, not a beer belly or anything. But I'm not interested in bodybuilder types who work out five hours a day and get 500 grams of protein daily.
Broad shoulders. Mmmm.... |

Yes. Broad shoulders. Preferably on a tall man.

I can only get it up (tgirl) for my fellow sensual form. Dainty guys do it for me, nothing else, only sleek, slender, elegance. I cannot relate to it and fatties are so sloppy and gross and utterly ridiculous looking. No Neanderthals for me, nothing beastly at all and no bestiality / shallow / hetero in the different sense, only elegance so that I can empathize with fully, at the least covering the physical, there is physiognomy to it.

Muscular, but not bodybuilder type. Strong arms, tall and a great sense of humour are a plus :P

Not a woman but ...
I have been everything from thin, to thickly muscled and cut, to lean and wiry and shredded, to sort of chunky. I found that when carrying more muscle women would approach me regularly. Even the women who said they didn't like muscles would go out of their way to touch my arms and shoulders, smile, flirt, giggle, and behave in a very stereotypically girly way. Overall, I did much better with women when I looked like that. Often women with boyfriends or husbands would outwardly come on to me. It gave a very bad taste for humanity. I found after a while that I preferred to keep covered up, and let them get to know me as a person, not as a physical body. I'm not sure that worked much better, but it was better for my head. Lean and trim never got me much attention. And chunky, well, only my wife (ex-wife) liked me like that. But that was different -- she loved me, she didn't care if I was fat, thin, or bursting with muscles. (Damn, I managed to fuck that up too.) I prefer myself lean and cut, sort of as I am now, much thinner but chiseled, but it definitely does not have the drawing power that forty or so additional pounds of muscle had. |

Jackman's pretty jacked. Very high standards if he's not considered too cut. |

Addendum to supple superiority.
Besides personal observation and studying people thoroughly myself, the Journal Of Human Brain Mapping confirms that skinnies is be smarter than fatties so they is dumb and they is fat *has flashback to abuse from fat slobs and soggy / flabby lookin people* ew, gross, and gross to bulky or ridged boys too, ewk. and also To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. Unlike most there's always been a science to my sexual selection which is why it has actually become more refined over the years. No, I do not want to fuck a fat slob (nor should I be into very muscular sorts in most cases), when I see those stupid subhuman looking calves, I just want to beat them to death with a stun rod.

In my mind there's a distinct difference between "cut" and "jacked". |

I like the skinny wirey nerdy look, always have but how a man treats me has a lot to do with how much I like him. It's much more important than looks. I also don't like tall but my fuck buddy is 6-4. I actually thought he was ugly when I met him but he makes me feel comfortable and that goes much further than anything else.

I like it when they sweat a lot. It means they are working hard.

Anyway, when I was a teenager (just going through puberty really) I liked slim guys, skinny even. Retrospectively, I think it was because : 1, it was easier to be attracted to androgynous guys than to admit I also liked girls, 2, a strong guy felt more menacing, and I was quite scared of men at the time, 3, a bit like facial hair or chest hair (...or penises :D), muscles were clearly masculine, very foreign to the bodies I was familiar with, so again, scary.
Now, I like To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. . Within reason. I'd like a slim guy better than a bodybuilder. By "muscles" I mostly mean strong arms. And just as Seriously said, a little tummy can be cute. I've also been with a fat man (sorry about the bluntness, but he's blunt about it too) and I really didn't mind that much aesthetically, but it affected his sexual abilities and self-estim, which wasn't great. And yeah, lots of sweating.
