i want an INTJ country...actually...scary (shudders at the thought) but maybe a 25% INTJ and 50% IN one would be nice

My place, Zhen. Cocktails at 6?

yeah if I'm ever coasting by sure I'll drop in and say hi...no alcohol for me though (and anyway I prefer very good wine to cocktails)...I don't like to lose my inhibitions...but I'll slurp coconuts and hang on the hammock next to you and have nice chats in the late afternoon swaying in the breeze

Germany and Scandinavia frequently rank amongst the highest in terms of sexual equality.

I agree I loved all German and Scandinavian men I've ever met IRL I feel a level of respect & decency not experienced from the locals...

Japan would be a complete waste of an INTJ female's talents. The society is very traditional-minded, rigid and inflexible (bigtime SJ territory), not to mention sexist and demeaning towards women. Many highly-educated, intelligent, motivated females are relegated to the role of "tea girl" in companies. After the vacation period wears off, the frustration period moves in in full force.

true i'd feel frustrated in different ways but I get on well with the people

I lived in Europe for six months, specifically Germany, and I don't recommend it. If inefficiencies frustrate you, Europe is not where you belong. Germany, which historically has been known for efficiency and hard work, has become very European.
.

LOL you think GERMANY is in bad? have fun here then!...especially out of the cities...my german friend here turned carrot red in the face mad with how terrible and slow the service is here...small population...we don't have the service oriented culture america has...due to the tip system...

I did quite well in Germany. It felt like going home, for the most part, although I would say they have a slightly more ISTJ (rule-follower) mentality. The structure and the people were great, but I'm going to cross the street if there's no car coming if I darn well please! They tend to follow rules just because they're rules, whereas I tend to dispense with a rule that I find stupid if I can.

yes Germans are pretty uptight with their rules I had forgotten about that...that would get on my nerves after a while...

I actually think New York and Portland might suit...anybody have thoughts on Portland in terms of personality type...I think I like it's natural open minded kind of culture...

This would match Hofstede's findings about Canada's cultural dimensions:

Masculinity

Individualism

Uncertainty Avoidance

really interesting, yep Canada is one place I really like the people. I especially like the insight that they strive for high standards which hadn't occurred to me (which is a key factor for a very INTJ friendly culture.)

. The idea was to influence policy of a state government by migrating. Of 11,260 people that signed up since 2001, only 972 have made it to New Hampshire. Then again, we'd probably be more efficient about it.

I had so many frustrating experiences in Germany with their inefficiencies, specifically dealing with government bureaucracy and the

. Office hours were short and inconvenient with long breaks in the middle of the day, wait times were long, multiple visits were required. Just as a general example of inefficiency, they were building two new flats next to my own the entire 6 months I was there. The frames of the building had already been put up when I moved in and they hadn't finished by the time I moved out. They woke me up working on them every morning and the new buildings were only five or six stories, so there was absolutely no reason why it should have taken them so long.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably heard mention about how (generally) Germany is a modern and efficient country. My German grandmother (god rest her soul) used to go on and on (& on) about how things were so much better and made more sense in Germany than in Canada. Well, now that I’ve had a few months experience I share my thoughts on this.

For the most part, I’m convinced that this “German Efficiency” is a myth. I realize this is a sweeping generalization and depends on personal experience, but I’m convinced that Germany has hired a fantastic PR firm to send this message out to the rest of the world. While some things make sense, some things are utterly ridiculous.

German efficiency is another myth: try cashing a cheque at a German bank in less than half an hour. This is still a cash culture that distrusts plastic money.

I propose, with the example of the little girl on the U-Bahn, that the quintessential German quality often mistaken for efficiency is actually just a penchant for following the rules. Always. No matter how irrational it may be to do so.

Indeed up until the point of sorting out internet, I was under the firm & indisputable impression that German efficiency remained absolutely unrivalled. Hands down, in most cases it’s fair to say that the Germans are uncannily punctual, do not share in the English people's penchant for ‘beating around a few bushes’ when getting their meaning across, & good grief their rubbish is so decisively sorted into three different categories, i’m almost afraid to throw stuff away for fear of getting it wrong.

In my first week, I attempted to jay walk and a old man grabbed my arm and shouted, literally shouted, at me in German for five minutes.

I know what you mean!
And i live in country Victoria. At least there may be some education in Sydney.

I am just an odd one. I am not bogan, nor do i speak as such. I don't have hardly any friends or similar hobbies to those around me. I guess i am a loner, do my own thing a lot. Which suits me fine.

And i met another INTJ girl who lives 30k's from me during a course i was doing (i am a female). We were instantly like a house on fire. First time in my life and very slim chances of that ever happening again.

Plus i like to deal with people in a work sense. With a purpose. Not just general gossip/chit chat which is rife in the country = Cold, unfriendly me.

I am keen to find other countries/cultures that may suit our personalities.
