Green Bay collapsed and I'm glad I didn't even put that much money on them or Denver. I think I made up all the money I lost from GB and Denver. I had a gut feeling that it was going to be close but I didn't see that coming.

On paper the Giants should win against the 49'ers, however, I think people are really doubting the 49'ers momentum and hard hitting defense. I don't think it's going to be as easy as all the analysts are saying it should be.

Teams coming off victories over the previous Super Bowl Champions are 0-11 in the next playoff game.

I guess that means the Giants are going to lose.

I'll have my picks up tomorrow. I think I have a runaway lead right now though.

$142 On Baltimore
$100 On New York

If I lose these two bets I'll have $1 left to bet on the Super Bowl.

There have been three instances when two quarterbacks who met previously met for a second time.

Bradshaw-Staubach
Aiklman-Kelly

and now Manning-Brady.

In both previous instances, the QB who won the first time won the second time, too.

Brady now has 5 super bowl appearances as the starting QB when he takes the field. With a win that puts him in the same category (4 SB rings) with Montana and Bradshaw. It might be time to start talking that Brady is one of the best ever.

I think people have already been talking about Brady as one of the best ever for years now.

Anyways, if we're talking about who has the most championships Sid Luckman won four with the Bears in the 1940s. He also had an undefeated regular season in 1942, but lost the championship game (just like Brady in 2007). Furthermore Bart Starr played in six NFL title games (including two Super Bowls) and won five of them. There is also Otto Graham who won four consecutive AAFC championships with the Browns, and then won three NFL titles after the Browns joined the NFL in 1950. Graham also has the highest winning percentage of any NFL quarterback at (.810).

Brady and the Patriots exact their revenge in an impressive (resulting in dreadfully boring) blowout victory. The Giants played the Falcons (Laughable), a Packers team that wasn't out played at all, they just collapsed. So the "best" team in the NFL didn't even provide a real test to measure the Giants by, and IMO the 49ers Cinderella season had to come to an end eventually. They did come out of the NFC West after all.

Patriots on the other hand after shaky start to the season showed continuous signs of improvement every week, especially on the defensive side. Dethroned the Anointed One Tim Tebow in handy fashion, and then beat one of the best defenses in the league. Also they come into this Super Bowl with no perfect season and the line.

Just my 2 cents.

Hmm I can't agree with this. I'll give you the Falcons theory. They played mostly weak teams and lost to everyone who really mattered. But the matter in which they beat them was still impressive. Extremely impressive. Manning had 3TDS and close to 300 yards, while keeping them to 0 points. (Safety is a defensive score so who cares).

As for Greenbay, they basically tossed them around like rag dolls. You can't just call it a collapse and take all that away from the Giants. They CAUSED the Greenbay season to downfall. It doesn't just happen. Sure dropped passes hurt but so did the 3 turnovers caused by the giants (which undeniably should of been 4). Not to mention Eli had 330 yards passing and the defense had 4 sacks on Rodgers. It's too easy to take that away from NY.

The 49ers game was ugly, brutal and disgusting. By anyone will agree that the 49ers have the best defense in the playoffs. I would say better than the Ravens. They hit harder and cause more mistakes than any other team. They are fast as hell on the line backer level. And 0 Rushing TD's in 14 games is retard crazy. They sacked ELI more times than I can count. Still, he got up and threw 58 times for 300 yards.

So if your going to say the Patriots beat one of the best defenses in the league, then you have to say the same thing about the Giants.

The Patriots are no slouch either but yelling victory over Denver is laughable at best. Keep in mind Tebow ended the season 1 - 4. They played a broken down Pitts team who was missing key players. Of course no excuse but it was also not a surprise. Nor was it less surprising to see the Patriots blow them out. I don't think anyone can really take anything away from that game.

The Baltimore game was great. Brady did not look very Brady. Personally, I think they downplayed his injury but that he will be fine for the SB. What really won them that game was their Defense finally stepped up and made plays. What really hurt them was Gronkowski's injury. He will not be anywhere near 100% for the SB.

How you play during the season is irrelevant once the playoffs start. You could be the worse team in the league and still win. I really can't see this game being a blowout. Not the way both of these teams are playing now in the playoffs.

All valid points. I guess I am just letting my dislike of New York in general and the fact that honestly they haven't impressed me much all season long cloud my judgment.

I do think how you play in the regular season matters a great deal when the playoffs start. In all sports I believe there's a big difference between teams who "back into" the playoffs and others who come roaring their way in from the back.

Also anything is possible. As an LSU fan I'm still washing the taste out of my mouth from the National Championship game, cause no one saw that to be a blowout either, and in this situation 21-0 was one.

We'll see what happens! Sports are easier to play around with when making wild predictions, unless money is involved of course.
