Hi! My name is Steph and I'm also an INTJ. Since there's usually only me, I was so excited when I found this forum/site. However, I do make lots of friends and I love conversing with other people now.

I took the test three years ago but since my blockmates were all extroverts, I was FORCED to go OUT. ) It was soo difficult for me to go hang out in the mall and they couldn't convince me to go outing. haha.

Anyway, I'm still like that but now that I reviewed the portrait of an INTJ, I think my ability to make friends goes back to when I was a child. Well, befriending other people is like a system to me and I do find it functional but I treasure it just like any other relationship.

I did find it funny when I read the "Do's and Don'ts" posted in INTJ Central... 'cause they are true. I NEVER lie when people ask me for my opinion. For example, most people would see a picture of their friend and say "Oh, you're pretty there!" but then for me, I don't speak at all. If your picture and your actual face don't match, I keep silent. haha. And if anyone asks me how they look, I say "Nice". By my standards, "nice" is in between. :D

Then, there was this time that I went against my nature and "made an offense" (in school) 'cause I disregarded the guard and just went inside the school without wearing my uniform. So, I was sent to the discipline officer and was asked why I did that and I replied, "CAUSE I DON'T SEE THE POINT IN WEARING UNIFORM!" Boom. haha.

I was sick then so I really didn't care. The person got even madder. hahaha. The reason why I said that is because I'm already in college and it was the last day of school; we had a performance so I had to wear something else. And the reason why they wanted us to wear our uniform on a Saturday (it was a saturday then) is because there was a bomb threat and they were taking "preventive measures". Anyone can copy our uniform. They should've looked at my I.D. I was wearing one. Duh.

Hello tepishane,

welcome to the INTJ forum. Here you can enjoy a wide selection of conversations ranging from the mundane to the sublime. Do not worry if you do not receive an answer right away, our automatic answer system takes time to compute the right reply.

So tell us a bit more about that "incident". How could tell that the person was mad at you?

I solved that problem by living in a place with no mall. As to the bomb threat yeah the place should have been evacuated and the evacuation area searched. You are supposed to ask the person where they put the bomb and what type it is. That said usually the people that bomb schools are students with firecrackers.

edit: oh and tepishane is stephanie ?

I'm so glad that someone else has problems with pointless rules! I had a lady at work the other day pull me aside to point out that I wasn't wearing pantyhose with my skirt. There's a rule that pantyhose must be worn with a skirt from September 30 to May 31 unless the skirt falls at the ankle or below, but I had figured that it might just be all right given the fact that it was over 90 degrees outside at the time. My mistake.

I usually have trouble because part of me wants to correct people or to point out that rules like this are an insult to my intelligence (do they really think I can't dress myself properly?). The other part of me knows that if I try to do that, I'll just make people mad.

This is why my sole goal in life career wise is to be able to show up to work in pajamas and not have anybody say anything. Forget about the corner office, name on the door, or the fancy title. I know I will have achieved success and am truly an experienced and valued professional when I can be like, that's right, I'm here to work and am in my pajamas. Take it or leave it.

Yeah I'm glad I'm a guy. There are a lot less arbitrary rules on clothing and appearance for us.

I have the same goal with one small alteration. "Yeah, that's right, I'm here at work in my birthday suit. Take it or leave it." Of course, if I do it, it's art. If you do it, it's indecent exposure and you're now a sex criminal.

I should point out that I worked for an accounting firm. I think that the general partner was a bit of a conservative in matters of dress. But really? Really? I live in Texas. May 31 was above 100 degrees. And pantyhose is damn uncomfortable at the best of times.

I used to get expelled all the time for tying my jumper around my waist and wearing Doc Martins. I just told them to shove it I wasnt buying new shoes and they could either fight me to take them or leave me alone.

Hi, Steph!

Your name comes from the Greek stephanos, which means, "crown". I only point this out to provide a natural segue into a discussion of an exciting development...

'Cause she slammed her diary on the desk the moment after I replied. )) Gestures say everything. Then she threatened to hold me in her office until our Final Presentation is finished (so that I won't get my grade).

I love this forum! It's like a group of me's! Yes, my parents named me Stephanie because when I was born, I already had long hair and it kept standing up like a crown.

---------- Post added 10-26-2011 at 09:00 AM ----------

Thank you, everyone! You're so welcoming! Hmm. So maybe INTJ's can live with others like themselves after all!

(But then I don't think we can all survive in one company. A team needs to have different personalities. And usually INTJ's function best on their own)

Anyway, I'm just curious: Do you guys also experience a rush of ideas during the evening? I'm a nocturnal person. Does that have anything to do with our personality?

Every truly creative idea I get happens during the night time. Usually while I'm laying down before I fall asleep. Then I have to get up and write it all down just so I can have a peaceful mind before I actually pass out. I don't know if all INTJ's are like this, but I certainly am.
