Cancer caught up with him, at 56 years old. I've never been an Apple fanboy, but I'm genuinely sad at this news.

I literally just bought a new MacBook Air three hours ago. Fucking depressing.

I'm not a big apple fan or anything, but the Pixar movies alone are a great legacy.

I thought it was a rumor at first.

Time to go watch the news and see some reactions.

Steve Jobs is a legend, and his death is a sad event. At the same time, we should all be happy he didn't die 14 years ago - the guy has revolutionized how things are done. One wonders whether the realization he was dying didn't spur Jobs on in some ways.

It did. I quote...

“.. almost everything – all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”

Wow, that was weird. Right below this thread in the forum list is "why I hate apple".

His death is a pity.

I just heard about that.
I'm really surprised. I knew he was struggling with cancer, but I didn't know it was this bad. He had just stepped down from his job...
RIP Jobs

What a shame. Love or hate Apple, Jobs was a genius, and he'll be missed.

Wonder where Apple's stock will go now. Might be a good time to buy...

RIP Steve. You changed a lot, much for the better, and I will miss you.

Very sad. Cancer is cruel and cold killer.

Doesn't matter if you like Apple or not.

I'm still in shock ... I never would have guessed that it would happen like this! Really I don't know what to say. He was always a great enterpreneur and he will be sorely missed for sure.

A great loss to humanity. He had quite the vision of the future. An Intuitive beyond measure. I haven't typed him, but my guess was that he was an ENTJ.

I may hate Apple and it's products but despite all that you got to respect the man for what he was able to accomplish.

Yeah I was on twitter since I heard the news. Lol some people didn't even know who the guy was, ridiculous. An inspiration for all entrepreneurs out there.

"Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life or come with me and change the world?"
- Steve Jobs.

Like others, I'm not much of an Apple fan. But for all the company's flaws, there was no question that Steve Jobs worked for his customers. The man grew rich by serving consumers...from a little garage...and rocked the world. Like the passing of skilled cook, everyone is going to notice his absence one way or another.

Such a shame.. My thoughts go out to his family/friends.
Hopefully the void can be filled soon.
