Being such private people IRL and very measured in their use of words, how come INTJs on this forum are so willing to share their thoughts and even reveal, to some extent, information about their own lives?

There's a reason for everything:

What happens when people meet you in real life?

I tell them nothing, distrust them with full information, act for two, sometimes conflicting goals - social conformity and personal integrity.

* The mode of communication (verbal vs. written)

Yep, socialization is a dance, written is closer to thought, which is more comfortable/familiar.

* The anonymity factor

Somewhat, though I have no trouble telling things to NP's.

* The fact that if you are here, this is a subject that interests you anyway (and INTJs are heavily invested in anything that interests them)

If I post on a thread, it's because I find it more interesting than the other thread options. There's likely a reason for that, a reason that makes it easier to type in the thread at length.

* Something else?

Hive-mind. There's something familiar about the thoughts here, where, even though I disagree officially, I can understand the mentality. Disagreement is less jarring /baffling than may be with the S-world, and the discussions is more thought-based, drier than among the F-world.
