Yes, it functions differently from what we had before. Periodic jobs are run that index the forum content, and the search relies on those indexes. The downside of this search is that it isn't quite live. The upside is that it doesn't put as much strain on the database so it isn't going to slow down the forum or require us to put a bunch of restrictions and timers on it to throttle its use like the one we were using. |

When I search my most recent posts, the most current one that shows up is from 7:23pm mountain time, whereas my actual last post (before this one) was at 2:27am mountain time.

In some ways, this is an interesting social experiment. To what amount of effort will members (self included) go to alleviate their stalking needs?

Under "Quick Links", there's an "Unanswered Threads" option. When I click it, I see a list of threads that look answered, and answered again, and again, and again, and again X a lot.
Could I be doing something wrong? Or is there something wrong with the link? |

this is making it more difficult to effectively stalk stasis. |

I check back on what I last posted and it's stuck on a post I made two days ago. How the hell am I going to bask in all the glory that is me or follow up on all the chirping crickets?

You could stop being lazy and actually go to the threads you posted on last and look at them.

^ The problem is he can't see which threads he posted on last, because the mechanism to do so is stuck on ~2 days ago.
I have this problem, too. I do the "find posts by user" on my own nickname to track my old posts sometimes, as opposed to saving a bookmark for every single thread I post to. |

You can't remember what threads you posted on and look them up by the form/sub form they are on?
Or just hit "unread posts" and see if they pop up? ---------- Post added 09-26-2011 at 12:48 AM ---------- I would imagine this is just a temporary kink while they are upgrading. But if it were me I would keep it this way awhile just so you have to figure out alternatives. Work for it bitches. ![]() |

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "saving a bookmark for every single thread I post to," but just in case you -- or anyone else reading this thread -- is unaware of the system I use to keep up with the threads I post in: |

^ This is really helpful. The bug described in the OP is still... a bug.. but what you just described is a great way to do the same thing while avoiding the bug. |

There are also images at the left of each thread that will help you remember which thread you have posted in. If the little page icon contains a + sign, then you have posted in the thread. Like so:
