"Sick" is the perfect way to describe a fuckin Atkins starvation diet like that. Egg whites only or...ONE WHOLE EGG (omg, I'll burst!) for flavor? I sincerely hope he's talking about ostrich eggs.

Its not atkins, nor is it terribly similar except in the fact that it seeks to minimize blood sugar spikes. Its designed to keep you out of ketosis

A few years back I ate much less and wanted to lose pounds fast so I would buy food I would enjoy, but constantly count calories so that it became like a calorie counting game. I enjoyed my counting calorie hobby, and enjoyed knowing how much several different servings of food had. I would sometimes buy a snickers or package of cheap candy from a vending machine, take a bite or few and then maybe give half or the rest to someone else, or find something else to do with it, figuring ok now I just injested 100 calories but they sure tasted good, in my 900 calorie diet for the day. I would also purchase a diet coke or 0 calorie monster drink and enjoy that for a while. Then I might have something I enjoyed less such as a salad and then a few more goodies, and then a low calorie lean-pocket or two for dinner.
In the past, and even now I frequently eat frozen yogurt for lunch with some candy if any at all. Now I also treat myself to different fruits for breakfast and about 1/2 pound of chicken or pork and vegetables for dinner.

Eat several small meals instead of larger ones.

Unless you're a diabetic, this isn't necessary. It's worthwhile if you have trouble with cravings and satisfy those cravings with bad snacks, but there's no metabolic benefit (unless you starve yourself).

Eating protein with carbs is far more effective than eating low GI over high GI. For instance, if you eat a cereal in the morning (whatever), have an egg (whole, fuck this egg white shit) with it.

If you aren't enthusiastic cook, start making your meals from scratch and avoid eating out. That way you have to cook every time you want to eat something, which in turn reduces the amount of food you consume.

For snacking purposes, buy cucumbers, carrots or other veggies and fruit.

Go to grocery shopping every day or at least every second day and plan what you're going to cook. Don't buy foodstuff that you don't need for the meals you have in mind.

If possible, walk/bicycle to the said grocery store and carry the items back home in your bag/backpack. Don't buy more than what you could comfortably carry assuming you'd need to carry them for about half a mile (regardless of your way of transportation).

Anyone got any good tips? I mean interesting tips. I think we all know the normal ones like eat less, exercise more, eat better foods, do cardio etc.

I'm talking about the small tips like drink plenty of water, keep food diaries, or take the stairs instead of the elevator.

What little things worked for you?

2 years ago, I totally changed my diet and lost 90 lbs in less than 6 months time. None of it has returned.

I did zero exercise (other than sex), didn't drink plenty of water, didn't keep diaries, etc.

I made a full-stop, non-negotiable decision to stop eating all forms of grains, starches and syrups. This included stopping all packaged foods because they almost all contain some form of those ingredients.

I switched my diet to high-fat, low carb and the pounds started falling off - between 2 and 4 pounds per week.

My diet includes plenty of high-fat cheese, real butter, about 6 eggs per day, chicken, fish, broccoli, tomatoes, olives, olive oil, and heavy milk cream. I do not eat carrots, peas, beans, pumpkin, etc.

It is entirely possible to manipulate one's metabolic function. I know, because I've done it.

Try eating big meals after workouts instead of eating them before.

I vote for the vegan diet. Not because the no-grains diet or paleo or Atkins/whatever, makes you fat - I wouldn't know, because I'm already thin and I couldn't stick with Paleo long enough to find out either way, because it made me very sick.

But on vegan, I feel energetic and healthy. I do eat small amounts of animal products though, here and there, just to avoid deficiencies. But 90% of the time = vegan. If you don't use it as an excuse to blizzard your fucking piehole with sugar, then you'll cut out a lot of calories anyway.

I think some people actually do better on Paleo - but others like me, are not meant to consume animal products whatsoever. Not even the organic/grassfed/sexygreen variety. No. No animal (byproducts).

So if Paleo makes you feel like a 90 year old arthritic, then give veganism a whirl! And if that doesn't work....you're fucked.

I ate apples and my stomach went crazy on those. Just sat on the pot for the next 5-7 days. Lost a lot of liquids and of course weight. I went from 93kg to 88kg.

Ass hurt after that. But damn I looked good!

Consume only non-fat dry milk and a couple of multivitamins every day.

I think if you consume too few calories, your metabolism goes into starvation mode and you gain weight as a result. I'm no health specialist, though.

I've heard that people can lose hundreds of pounds of fat without any dieting or exercise using a process called "Divorce". However, weight lost this way is often gained back, sometimes in just a few days.

There is another slower process that is permanent called "Death".

Neither process is cheap.

Stop eating anything with HFCS, avoid processed foods, prepare meals anything from raw and only shop on the outside of the supermarket (i.e. avoid the halls and stick to fresh produce, fruits, meats, cheeses/dairies).

Start by making small changes to your diet and gradually keep up with them. Instead of just waking up one day and changing everything start slow. Say you drink coke well maybe your goal for the month is no more coke and only water. Add in a new change the following month. Small steps will help you change your lifestyle and not just go on a binge diet.

Add in some exercise and be patient.

Being health/fit is a lifestyle.

Nutricion and exercise are what it takes. Nutricion is complicated but below works much better then the typical American diet.

Drinking more natural juices, herbal teas and water then milk
Drinking more milk then pop beer or pop
Eating more raw/steamed vegitables/beans/whole grains then fruit
Eating more fruit then animal derived products
Eating more chicken and fish then red meat
Eating more meat then junk food
Avoiding processed foods as much as possible
Then combining the above with moving around 12 hours a day

Following the above there really isn't enough time in the day to eat wrong, and it will probably add up to eating more, starvation is a poor way to go about it.

The above also works for building muscle, you just eat enough to naturally get a gram of protein per pound of body weight and then worry about your whey.

Some other tips...

Ride a bike or walk to do errands if you have time.
Use stairs instead of an elevator
Limit TV and computer time to a set limit

I dont think HCG really works. Most HCG products come with the "mandatory" 500 calorie per day diet. Now you tell me, whats working here the HCG or the calorie deficit? For those who dis the Paleo eating style, do some reading here:

I think it will do you some good.

The best fat loss advice I can give is too try out a reputable exercise program, like Body of FIRE (available at the link above). That will SHED fat right off. Otherwise just look around on fat-loss-reviews.com and see what they got. In depth reviews of some good stuff

Eat breakfast. Stop eating processed crap. Exercise (there is no way around this). And most of all, eat more plants than meats. 4/5 of your intake should be plants. Seriously.

I pretty much stay on the Mediterranean diet. It's been a great way for me to maintain my weight over the years. When I was seriously ill three years ago though, I was in the hospital and bed bound for about a year and I lost a lot of my muscle mass. I am doing a lot more exercise now, but I'm interested in building my back my muscle mass.

What do I need to do? Weight lifting? Strength training? (Also, I don't want to bulk up, I, like most women, want to have lean muscle).

Hypnosis. It seemed to help my dad control his appetite. I've never had to lose weight, but I've used hypnosis for something else and it was helpful.

1. Stop eating so much!!!!!!
2. Work out more!!!!

Heard that? Yeah, I'm sure a lot of fat people have. It's not so simple.
i used to be on a wrestling team and have somewhere near 3% body fat at some point. Weight loss/toning were things I got really good at. Soooooo, here's a few tips.

Your metabolism is set by your habits. When you wake up if you don't do anything active and don't eat soon, you're giving a signal that says you need to conserve. It's a survival instinct that would work great if you're stranded in the wilderness. Your metabolism slows down and stores what resources are available rather than use them.

If you do eat and do something active it speeds up since the message is that you've got food and your most likely getting more later.

Suggestions for waking up: The moment you wake up drop down and do 30 push-ups [If you can't, no biggie, just get as close to that as you can] and 30 crunches, then prepare a big breakfast. This isn't very time consuming. If you have more time on your hands go for a run [remember to a warm up, then stretch while your muscles are warm before you run]. Then, when it's all done stretch again and do a cool down work out, then you can shower up and go about your day with a faster metabolism.

Keep in mind you'll gradually change the metabolism as you go.

Cardio is one of the best ways to lose fat. So, try to run about 5 miles a week [just a mile a day, can be done at a light jog and will take about 15min.s at the most, and you have two days off].

Weight lifting helps two, not as much as cardio.

Eating... I personally eat whatever I want, whenever I want. I make sure I compensate for it by working out. I have habits that compensate, like walking everywhere I go and taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

Habits: Start taking the stairs instead of the elevator until you don't think about it anymore, you just do it. Walk anywhere that's within 2 miles if you don't have to be there anytime soon. Be mindful of your posture [it requires less energy to slouch].

Hope that helps.

Fat loss?

Burn more energy than you get from food.
Yes you might feel tired.
Yes it means you have to move more and harder too.
Walk fast pace.
Run when you can.
Do some sport and push harder and harder in it.
And exercise, depends how much does it take for you to burn the energy.

Eat healthy food.
Nothing fried and fatty.
Eat more vegetables etc.
Check your diet (what you eat and how much) and how much energy do you burn.
You eat too much than it gets stored as fat.

And yes you might feel hungry if you are used to do nothing and eat a lot.
Eat often and small portions.
Move when ever you can.

Yes, you should do some version of weight lifting or other strength training program. It takes serious effort to bulk up, so that's really not something you should worry about unless your lifting for like an hour or more a day everyday for years.

Daily hindu squats and hindu push-ups (in the comfort of your own home or nearby park).

Rule of thumb:

If it makes you feel miserable and deprived, it'll help you lose weight.

If it's enjoyable and comfortable, it'll make you gain.

With the exception of naturally skinny people like me, who eat 3000+ calories a day, sit on their asses all day and still are clinically underweight....ever notice what bitches most forcibly-skinny people are?
