Do you consider yourself being healthy and if so what do you do to keep yourself that way. Do you have any problems such as hypertension, diabeties, hperlipidima, or cancer. I am turning the big 50 this year and want to know if their is something our types are prone to.
I consider myself healthy but I have inherited problems which is hyperlipidema, and osteoporosis. I am curious thank for responding. |

I consider myself to be healthy, but I'm only 18.
My family has a lot diabetes, but they are all type two. Basically my key to being healthy is just to eat what I need (Plus I only drink water). I am also an avid biker to help on the exercise front, I bike an hour every day unless I'm going somewhere that is a greater distance away. A few days ago I biked 30 miles going to a friend's house to help her train for a triathlon. Cancer is known to run in my family, so I just get checked on schedule for that. I don't think personality types can be connected with physical ailments. |

I consider myself fairly healthy now. It wasn't too long ago that I was a chain smoker though.
I eat lots of fruits/ veggies/ high protein/ low fat foods. I drink minimally, maybe 2 drinks per week on a social night? I exercise - weights 5 times/ week. running 3-5 times/ week meditation - don't forget mental health, kids! so overall, yea, I'd say pretty healthy. I do have a minor hypothyroidism problem that I take a pill for every day. Lots of diabetes in my family. A few instances of cancer. A few heart attacks. |

I changed my habits impressibly since I left home. I am 30, and being living alone for 3 years now (that's the way latinos are).
Now my diet is super low in fats, cholesterol-free (no red meat, no dairy products, no eggs, etc.) and sugar free... and 3 liters of water a day (no sodas). Two things happened, I became tired of being fat, so I decided to lose weight, and I needed a diet which could be calorie countable and simple to cook. When I lost some weight I went and had a blood test to see "my inside", it resulted that I have high-cholesterol, therefore the once diet now is my lifestyle. I work out 4 times a week (1.5 hours of cardio) if that helps. |

I guess I am relatively healthy. I lift weights and train in Krav Maga. I have hemochromatosis, which runs in my family, but otherwise most of my numbers look good. My blood pressure is in the 170/72 range, my cholesterol is 125 - 130. I'm six feet, 215lbs. I wouldn't mind gaining a little mass.
As for my diet, I eat fairly well. I eat a lot of meat - beef, chicken, turkey, fish, bacon - and eggs for protein plus I supplement with protein shakes. I try to choke down a lot of vegetables and fruit, but go very, very light on other types of carbs, especially starches, bread, pasta, and candy. The worst thing I do is probably drink a lot of soft drinks, but I still drink as much or more water. |

I guess we could agrue all day over what makes a good diet. I think mine is quite healthy (minus maybe the soft drinks), but I also don't think it would work for everyone. I've tried others and the way I eat today supports what I do better than anything else I've tried. |

I've been healthier in the past, but have no major disease factors in my life. Health should be considered more broadly than the absence of disease, of course. Consider the Ottawa Charter approach:
Health is a resource for everyday life, not the object of living. It is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources as well as physical capabilities. (Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion. WHO, Geneva, 1986)By the way, why is this under P&E and not To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. Well I feel pretty certain that being an INTJ causes me to focus on the negative a lot; the things that don't work or that don't make sense. Also I'm often unprepared for something that is unexpected or not planned. These factors I think cause me a lot of missed opportunities and to not appreciate the good things enough as well as extra stress.

Really, the only thing you can hope for besides good nutrition and regular exercise, is to have good genes.

I'm 57 yo, am 21 years post-alcohol addiction (learned it from core family, ran in extended family), 7 years post-colorectal cancer (Mom had it, only risk factor), have been purging my diet in the last 6 months of; full cuts of meats (couldn't stomach the 'meats of my past', and sugar and preservatives. I have substituted stevia for sugar in baking recipes which has resulted in loss of craving for fast foods with high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) specifically or generally sugar and preservatives.
I rate my overall health as good as I've ever had - in spite of advancing age ;-) |

I'm on my 20s but as far as I'm concerned, my lifestyle has always been unhealthy. Unhealthy diet, lack of sleep, too much work, and zero exercise are the common routines of my daily life. Surprisingly, I've never had any serious illness for the last 13 years, and I've always managed to accomplish most of the hard work that I had to do. How long I can survive such lifestyle is probably the big question mark.

Pretty healthy. Blood pressure 118/69. 23 years old, 5'7.5", 145lbl. A good deal of exercise due to my combat sports hobby. I generally eat rice + a bunch of veggies stir fried with some type of meat. I guess my only major vice is my addiction to energy drinks. I must have one every day or it will be a very bad day for me.
Brilliant genes; all grandparents and great grandparents lived past 80, even the alcoholics. No cancer, no diabetes, no heart problems, etc. in my family. |

^ Those energy drinks probably nearly cancel out half the healthy things you're doing. Not worth it. Not worth it at all. Kill that shit like a hungry wolf eating it's prey.

I consider myself healthy, I'm 22 5'8" 145lb. I eat fruits and vegitables, usually only drink tea, water, and milk. I rarely eat fastfood, and take a good multivitamin. I drink maybe 2 beers a week, and vaporize my weed on the weekends (which in its vaporized form is basically an antioxident) which I see as being in no way unhealthy. Lots of skateboarding, and an exercise schedule in the colder months. I plan on dying an unusually violent death early on (its just my way), or jumping on the immortality train if some singularity ideas come true.

I am glad you turned your life around. It is good that you survived CA for 7 years and will continue to do with proper diet.

I wouldn't call myself healthy, but I do function.
25, 5'9", 117lbs. I under-eat, generally. I eat fruits, vegetables, usually fish once or twice a week, TONS of carbs (pasta and rice, primarily), too much battered/deep fried food. 6oz of coffee with cream on weekdays. Basically no exercise beyond the occasional walk. I do try to drink a lot of water. I have low iron levels, poor circulation and a very minor heart defect. Grandparents are healthy(ish) in their 80s. |

Only from the carbon monoxide and tar of the smoke which isn't released untill higher threshhold temperatures then that of cannibinoids although smaller trace amounts of tar can, I inhale enough toxins from our polluted air I doubt some herbal vapors will matter much. I'd go the all healthy route and just cook it but that is a bit too potent, long lasting, and hard to calculate dose for me. I can hold my breath for a minute and a half, run for a couple hours straight, and think pretty good when its all done so I think I'm doing fine over all these pot happy years.

i'm pretty healthy. 22 years old, 6'1'', 185lb, athletic, do cardio/weights/eat right. Can hold my breath underwater for two and a half minutes (not sure how important that really is though). Don't smoke, occasional alcohol, no soda and few sugary foods. I make sure that i play games, read, or do something enjoyable each day, and keep stress in my life very low (if someone or something stress's me a lot, i often just fix it or drop it)
Don't have any genetic issues, a few injuries that i work around but thats about it. I was always really interested in healthy eating and proper form in exercising/weight lifting. I take a very scientific/physical/mind over matter approach when it comes to managing my body, and it works so far. |
