Some of you may know who I am, and some of you may not.
25 random things about myself. 1) I have never broken a bone. 2) I like Football/ Soccer, Rugby and Cricket. 3) I have lived in Oxford all my life. 4) I support Oxford United. 5) I was born the same day as Wladimir Klitschko, Sarah Jessica Parker, Aretha Franklin, and Elton John. 6) I have Ubuntu and Windows on dual boot. 7) My first name means "Warlike" and my middle name means "Like A Lion". I wonder if my mum and dad were trying to tell the world something? 8 My favorite food is pizza. 9) Until just before I was born my mum and dad lived in the same suburb as Robert Maxwell, J.R.R Tolkien, Sir Isaiah Berlin and C.S. Lewis. 10) I had to go to speech therapy when I was 3 or 4. 11) My favorite colour is yellow. 12) I got suspended from school a number of times. 13) The word 'gargoyle' was one of the first words I learn how to say. 14) I have to go to sleep with music on. I can't get to sleep when it is too quite, as I have a overactive imagination. 15) I have the most boring nondescript British accent you could possibly come across. I secretly wish I had a strong regional dialect. 16) I was named after a priest and my dad was a Sunday school teacher, but ironically I was never christened. 17) I have to use a 'Auto Shutdown' program or I would stay on my PC all night. 18) I like green tea. 19) I am a vegetarian, and I have been basically been all my life. 20 ) I once told my mum and dad I wanted to be like Michelangelo out of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. 21) I like watching cricket at University Parks, as it is the only first-class cricket ground in the UK where spectators can watch for free. 22) My favorite places in Oxford are University Parks,Christ Church Meadow,Port Meadow and Shotover Country Park. 23) I have never took any illegal drugs. 24) I am allergic to amoxicillin. 25) The day I was born Club Nouveau was number one in the US with a remake of Bill Withers' “Lean On Me". And in the UK, Mel & Kim were at number one with “Respectable”. |

As for the bolded highlighted areas, there are similarities with me. As for my Chinese name, it can mean "Great with creating a flock of people" and "A historical strategists- Zhang Liang." Welcome |

Falcarius, can I ask you a question? It's kind of a half-empty/half full kind of question.
Do you think that "American" counts as an accent, or is it a lack of? I'm talking average American, not specific like New York, Southern, Northern.. Ooh is there a topic about names yet? *checks search engine* |

Actually, about American accents it does exist. I just don't know the name for it, probably American Jargons.

hey, I've never broken a bone either, I LOVE pizza (especially french bread), and I'm a vegetarian too (have been for almost 5 years now). I don't drink green tea much (only if I'm pulling an all-nighter and need caffeine), but I love herbal tea.

Welcome!
Just ask any "proper Englishman"...Americans most certainly have an accent! (at least that's what I was told years ago when I visited the UK). |
