Greetings,

I'm new to the forum, but I've known for a very long time I'm INTJ. When I was a child I always assumed everyone thought like I did, but found out to my dismay that more and more I was strange to others. It never bothered me, but as time went on I became severely depressed that I had so many apparent thoughts and quirks that others didn't, and I wanted to talk to others who did too. Badly.

It still bothers me. I have a great girlfriend, who is an extremely talented med student, but I'm fairly certain she's ENFJ. The labeling of people based on the personality tags never appealed to me, but I bring it up because, while she's brilliant, I find it hard to reach the levels I need to be at because this kind of sensation is one that I feel needs to be mutual. She tries though, bless her heart.

Which is what brings me here. I crave some kind of resolution. One of my biggest issues is the synaesthesia. I've always had a strong affinity to the symptoms, but I never knew there was a formal term or diagnosis for such attributes. I feel dictated by them, I always have, the level of depth caused and the sensory overload gets frustrating when it seems nobody else in the immediate area shares such.

This is only an introductory thread, and I'm already going off on a tangent. But I'd absolutely love to share if anyone really is interested.

ANYWAYS, hahah, glad to be here. I can easily see this site becoming my homage to true identity and rationality.

Hi PhantomPhreak, welcome here.

I'm not sure I'm getting you correctly, you have synaesthesia (in which case which form do you have) or you wish you had synaesthesia?

I have it, and it bothers me that I get such strong sensory overloads and I can't really find the words necessary to describe them. That's not necessarily synaesthesia, but the number-form and tickertape are.

PhantomPhreak, welcome. Before you start posting, though, I have a confession to make…

I was Zero Cool.
