How about one of those police officers that guard the judge in a courtroom? Everyday you listen to tons of arguments, and you're not allowed to argue or comment on the proceedings. Just the thought makes me cringe.

Oh, you may be right. That would be a very special kind of hell.

Indeed that is one special kind of hell. Especially if you studied and you're educated to actually handle the substance (examples I already listed on

: law graduate shuffling papers at law firm, international relations graduate working as a receptionist at the UN).

As INTJ, it's our nature to want to fix things/systems. I actually work one of those jobs at the moment (it's clearly stated in my job desk that I have no authority to question substance--not even in the innocent "question out of curiosity" sense). The only reason why I put up with the job is hope that some day they'll hire me to work on the substance. I get frustrated because I have my own ideas and I want to know more about what I read at work but am not allowed to question. Super duper frustrating.

Nursing Home Assistant would scare the crap out of me.

Yeah, I'm not so good with old people because you always have to be nice and friendly and all cuddly because if you treat them the wrong way they'll get a heart attack and die on you and you get the blame even if it's about time anyway (like that episode of Fraiser where Roz gets a volunteering/community service gig at an old people's home and all the old people died on her). I can be fond of

old people when they get cute and nostalgic about stuff. Or when they start their sentences with, "

..."
I think it's kind of cute when they forget stuff and whine/get angry. "Riiiight... I'm the new candy stripper". Me thinks "INTJ candy stripper" is an oxymoron, though.

INTJs can catch on with and decipher their slang pretty quick, though. Did you know that "knitting" actually means having sex at the nursing home?

Public Relations.

Only if you're a front-liner in charge of making statements and being "the contact person". If you're the mastermind cooking up all the "imaging strategy", it's a BLAST. In the utmost orgasmic way possible. It's basically manipulating what people think about someone/something (the client you rep). Pure evil.

Ive had plenty of jobs and the worse by far was as a call centre phone basher. SJ hell, I almost lost faith in humanity. Hated every single second.

I worked as a receptionist and ticket box attendant (you know, the person who hands you your film tickets and explains schedules and what the film's about). Holy shit. Lost for words. *stitches lips together*

I'm going to agree with politician. I would have plenty of ideas, but the superficial society of today demands an extroverted person for the job and I just wouldn't be able to deal with that.

As a side-note, Hillary Clinton is an INTJ, and Obama is like an ENFJ.
I think you know which I wanted in power.

Scientific lab work would be excruciatingly boring for me.

I'm just throwing that out there as a less-obvious and more-personal example.

I would say any type of public relations position in which I am required to routinely interact with people who are completly ignorant and apathetic.

I worked at McDonalds for 5 years, and I didn't like it that much. I did well at it though (I got several promotions, up to a salaried position). This probably isn't too relevant though, because I doubt anyone actually considers fast food as a career choice.

I worked at Victoria's Secret for two years, and that was fairly near to hell. Not as bad as working the overnight shift at WalMart, though...

But I agree that politician would be a bad choice.

There's no way I could ever, while keeping a straight face, hand a TripleBaconMcHeartAttackBurger to someone who obviously should be watching their weight.

As for politicians most INTJ's would make great politicians but being a politician requires extroverted qualities, not to make them a better politician, but to make them more popular. Also, I don't think that most INTJ's could deal with all of the stupidity that they'd have to deal with as a politician.

A job where you have no freedom, your a cog, told what to do, have no ability to move up, evolve, make things better, the whole environment assaults your sense of efficiency, right and wrong...military is the worst, next is a government job, next might be a large boring organization where your a pointless cog just putting in time at a useless position that make no sense, has no purpose...your just giving your life away.

Honestly, those types of jobs are beyond bad, they are death to people who think.

When I took a better position in the trash company, this is what was basically foisted on me. They expected passive-aggressive, ineffectual bureaucratic nonsense out of me, and when I actually tried to perform real job duties they threw me under the bus repeatedly. When I fell victim to the last round of layoffs, I don't think they were expecting a woman laughing and gleefully cleaning out her desk like it was the second coming of Christmas. I think my lack of hurt feelings actually frightened the HR woman who'd been summoned to our offices specifically to lay me off.

As for suggestions, I'm going to go for massage therapist or hairdresser. I can't think of a job that would be more torturous for me.

Deeply flawed system. Deeply flawed people. They are only good at blowing sh*t up. Everything else is a cluster-f*ck to the max.

Even though I am one it takes a lot of my energy to put on that facade.

I'm a damn good salesperson though. Probably the only reason I still have my job with how malcontent and disengaged I feel...

Dead end job. Hopefully these prospects pull through.

I've been in and out of sales for many years.

I hate it, but I've been successful.

See, all you have to do is set up the right system...

+10000000

They could fix it if they wanted, but it's flawed from the top down...so it's fucked.

You're job is to run around a battelfield cleaning the crap off people who died and then 'released' in the trenches. Because, you know, there aren't resources to cart them all off yet but you can at least clean up their excrament before the other soldiers get sick. So not only do you clean up crap without access to bathing afterwards, you are traumatized by dead people everywhere AND are getting shot at.

That is the worst job for all of the people.

Full time housewife and mother. All of the responsibility, monotony, lack of intelligent stimulating interaction, and talk about cleaning up crap! No pay and little if any appreciation. It will make you want to kill someone or yourself or both. Run away, far, far away....

Thank God, I went to college....and married a man who wanted me to work!

Human Resources would be pretty terrible.

"Well, you need to quit compensating for your traumatic childhood by yelling at your employee, and you need to get rid of your codependency issues with your overbearing boss. You're both wrong and you're both idiots."

I'm totally not telling you what your preference should be, but I think MBTI is mostly irrelevant to whether or not you find parenting enjoyable. I know many 'childcare-types' who get fed up and worn down with kids and are miserable as a parent. Conversely, I know many NT mothers who love it, and do a pretty dang good job too.

Ouch, that would hurt I imagine. I'd never be able to stand it, especially if you've seen some of the ridiculous arguments that are made.

I'd have to say counselor/therapist. What with all the emotions running high and the hysteria, it would be unbearable.

EDIT:

Also, fashion analyst and those people who are involved with celebrity and entertainment news.

Can I have a classic INTJ moment and ask ... what the fuck did you expect after having a child? There is nothing more grating than a parent who bitches about an innocent child's early development stages. Did you seriously expect to have a philosophical discussion about Dianetics or atomic theory by 36 weeks? Or a request for a bidet from a one-year-old?

You do know what causes babies, right? If you're so totally brilliant that you feel so above the tasks and patience required of raising a small, underdeveloped human being, then you would know it's a simple physics equation, and that there is a magical pill to prevent the outcome.

By the way, I'm sure your mother wasn't in the midst of Mardi Gras when you were an infant/toddler, and probably had half the conveniences of mothers today.
