Quark is easily one of the best characters in the franchise.

2 words: wesley crusher.

and I didn't care for quark.
I also really don't like the borg.
Q kind of annoyed me as a kid, but in retrospect he seems... interesting.

I loved the romance between Quark's mother and the Grand Negus in DS9. You can look up clips on youtube.

tasha yar, self important biatch.
dr pulanski (The majority of the time, there were moments when I had to like her character. )
the ferengi as a whole
luwaxana troi.

I didn't dislike counselor troi but I did dislike the soap opera type plots that would spring up around her at times.

I was a huge fan of Q though. those eps were some of the best.

Data has a tendency to annoy me in his "being human" quests. I also really dislike looking at him. His eyes squick me out.

I am peripherally aware that he is actually quite an exciting character, but I stopped watching DS9 before I could properly appreciate that fact. I find the characterisation and representation of the Ferengi as a whole deeply problematic... which colours my attitude to Quark substantially (somewhat ironically).

Barclay was pretty annoying and a one-trick pony story-wise.

Wesley Crusher, with a lesser disdain for every character that isn't a Vulcan. Picard is the only one that gives me hope in humanity in Star Trek.

Kirk

Need to clarify this. Dislike the William Shatner Kirk since he's such a poser. Chris Pine's Kirk is only mildly annoying.

Every character on Star Trek Voyager except for Tuvok. They all acted like irrational whiny children. Tuvok was the only sane one. I liked most of the other characters from the other star treks. The Voyager crew I could never identify with, & thus it's easily my least favorite Trek series.

A few characters I don't care for too much from the other treks:

Tasha Yar / dr pulanski
Kai Win / Esri Dax (weak & annoying)/ Sisko during later seasons (he got too preachy, & over acted the part)
Trip (too emotional & headstrong - I didn't agree with his sense of morality quite often)

Alexander, Worf's son. Ugh. Annoying!
Sybok! Horrible character.
Harry Mudd from the original series. Annoying "pirate".
Harry Kim. Did he ever do anything interesting?
Shinzon.
Kira complained too much.
Guinan. Did she ever do anything interesting?
Kes... the most annoying thing about her was her final episode when she became angry and crazy... the whole plot was weird.

Out of all of them, Riker really rubs me the wrong way. He's a smarmy jackass and not amusing in the slightest. Runners up are Kes and Neelix.

Oh yea that reminds me. Harry Kim! He had the chance to have sex with 7 of 9 and he chickened out. But that was typical of his wuss behavior throughout the series. A real man like Riker would have been all over that in a fraction of the time. She finally went for Jakote near the end, which made sense given her options. I guess he was the closest thing to a man among all the castrated characters on that show. But that's not saying much.

Two pages. 3 people who would presumably rather be Vulcans...I love the INTJf.

Harry Kim, oh yes. There was that episode where that alien race was going to sacrifice him. I wanted them to succeed so badly.

Counselor Troi. The thought of a therapist on the command bridge of a starship is so New-Agey it makes me gag.

I never really understood the overall importance of Counselor Troi. Aren't doctors like Crusher supposed to be experts in psychological health too, since this is the far future?

And a counselor who almost always wears very tight spandex in the early seasons? Uh huh.

Yea apparently they were going to kill him off and replace him with 7 of 9 but they made the decision at the last minute to fire the actress who played Kes instead. Big mistake. I thought Kes, all though really annoying at first, was actually getting to be one of the better characters on the show by the 3rd season. Again, that's not saying much given that it was Voyager though. I know what you mean about rooting for the 'bad guys' on that show.

I have to admit to being one of the people who was won over by the Riker Charm, but when he gained weight around season 3 I will grant it became a little harder for him to pull it off. In the beginning he was the smooth talking cool guy, but he seemed to lose some of his charm & come across more as the angry guy as the show progressed.

He must have gotten passed up for promotion once too often. He probably got busted for banging Troi and the lunch lady.

He allowed himself to get molested by Seven.

It was gratifying to see her finally burn to death.

Ew, your F is showing.

After a bit of detached thinking, I realized that people of her ilk make a good example of a bad example. The viewers' 3rd person perspective allows them to see that even people like her actually wind up doing everything wrong despite the fact that they think they're doing something right. If she has engaged the viewer's emotion and shown them what wrong is, then she had done her job.

She was such a condescending, passive-aggressive, bully. I loved her, regardless of whether or not I agreed with her stance.

He was offered the Captain's chair like 3 times I believe. He just got to comfortable & lost is drive I think. That probably caused him to feel some anger & resentment.

Most of the Deep Space Nine characters ranged anywhere from mildly annoying to full blown annoying. Worf and O'Brien were even annoying in this series. But for some reason, the series worked.
