By now most people are aware of the growing problem of overcrowded prison and the high recidivism rate of those who have been incarcerated. The question to everyone is what should be done about this?

That would I believe reduce the numbers in prison as a large percentage are in there for drug related crimes but it would not reduce recidivism and it is not politically feasible at this time.

Well with a large marketing campaign you could make people accept it. Lower the amount of prisonner and then it's a lot easier to put in place some new policy.

Ideally you would divided more depending of the severity of the crime and the psychological caracteristic.

For instance, crime whitout violence would be put in a low level security prison. Maybe even a small sustainable farm where they would learn a different form of lifestyle.

You would keep the current prison style only for people that have done violent crime or have a high level of sociopathy.

Legalize murder and theft and we can empty all the prisons. Well, I guess that solves that problem.
