Men prefer women who agree to have sex with them. Dumb women are often easier targets as they are easier to impress. The dumbness itself is not attractive. Having sex with her is pretty attractive.

In my opinion the bold is insecure bullshit, as much as "a man wants a women who makes him feel like a man". Sounds like complete insecurity in my opinion.

You can't like everyone, and not everyone is going to evoke a comfortable sexual response. The kind of emotions a man typically feels in a good relationship aren't the same as a woman's, and it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with insecurity... although there's nothing wrong with feeling insecure either since it means that you realize that that situation isn't a situation you want to be in.

People who never feel insecure, usually don't feel that much of anything. Like if someone pulls a gun on you. Should you be afraid? Should you just plain be completely unaffected? You can be calm and unaffected... it may not be the better choice.

What makes you say that? Do you know what a woman feels like in a good relationship? And how big is your sample size concerning men, not including yourself?

I genuinely have trouble imagining what you might mean here. Maybe that the man feels "protective" whereas the woman feels "protected", or something like that?

There is no motherfucking way in hell that i'd want to be with a woman that's not as smart as me. Been there, done that. Equal or greater to only. Which i suppose puts me into a bind here since it would be hypocritical for me to then assume that a smarter woman would want to be with me.

Let me tell you something, noone knows what they exactly want when it comes to relationships, shit just happens, pheromones, immune systems, or whatever mystical power it is, it just happens and none of us have a fucking clue about what it is. And it should be this way, we shouldn't have a clue about it anyways. Let this one stay mysterious for crying out loud

I think if a guy is not as smart, it would be ok, as long as he was still pretty close. I would like a man smarter than me. This I know because I've dated. I mean I've tried to date guys and I'm just explaining stuff to them and all I can think is that they are so stupid... When it's like that, as soon as they start that demanding shit men do, I have no willingness to try to "go with it" anymore.

I think dumb women who aren't loud but have a normal volume and aren't causing strife for others are kind of funny.

To me perhaps not exactly romance material, but they are refreshing to watch as they do about doing entertaining things.

I'm not sure about what INTJ men think, but I think it has more to do with just lifestyles (ie: the elementary school teacher's schedule meshing well with the intelligent men's schedule). I think Western cultures glorifies the dumb woman and makes the intelligent woman seem masculine and (potentially) unappealing to the average man.

Think about it, the media shows "dumb women" to be fun, spontaneous, outgoing, accommodating, etc. whereas the smart, career woman is "driven, ambitious, serious, and independent". The former may not necessarily be viewed negatively, but these tend to be seen as more favorable characteristics in men than women.

I could honestly go on and on about the "dumb woman"...

This.

I'd like to meet an intelligent and passionate girl that shares my goals and dreams in life, but I doubt such a being exists anywhere on earth.

So instead of making myself miserable trying to fake a relationship with some bimbo, I just prefer to remain alone.

I think many people want partners that can appreciate the things they like, so for intelligence equals attract.

Have a similar problem. Met plenty of intelligent girls, and passionate girls. But most don't seem to share any of my interests. Some share a few. But not that much. A very select few do like more of my interests. But they're usually only talking to me about them, because they have a boyfriend, or are getting over someone, or see me as incompatible with them, and only want me to talk to, not to have a relationship with. Tried dating a few women who didn't share any of my interests. I honestly felt like going home and reading a good Sci-Fi book, most of the time, as I really enjoyed them.

Maybe many more women than men just don't feel that shared interests are necessary for a good relationship. Probably why so many women complain about it as well. They're in a relationship without shared interests, because they chose to, while most men simply don't even make that choice at all, or if they do date a person without any shared interests, do not consider it a real relationship.

makes sense, there are more dumb women then dumb men

the 'where are all the good men' thread a friend linked me was full of ideas and i think this is the reason women can't find the good men, most men are looking for dumb women. the hedge fund man did not want a driven woman, he wanted a kindergardten teacher. the tech one wantd the hot waitress. the intern said we’re looking for easy, come-and-go relationships with girls who make us feel manly, the photographer wants to look smart, so he dates dumb women, and on and on.

do you intj men think the same as the men from the article?

I think that there is a prevalence of dumbness in American culture at large that makes it difficult for intelligent people, of either gender, to find one another!

However, there are factors of social conditioning that encourage (even now, in a 'feminist age') women to play a rather shallow, secondary role to men. In many ways this has been reformed, but when one considers the roles for women in most blockbuster films and advertising, the prejudice materializes like a developing photograph.

Whether it's because of this subconscious/subliminal undermining of women through the media or simply the cultural fallout of it (real women playing the roles they are taught to play through media), some intelligent men lament that they will never find a woman who is their intellectual equal, with whom they can engage in highly relevant, philosophical/technical/abstract conversations that go beyond family matters, TV shows, and shopping. So they often settle.

Meanwhile, other reasonably intelligent men do not even consider this in the first place, buy into the stereotypes, and settle for an objectified minx or bargain-bin minx, sometimes philandering with intelligent women they meet after the fact.

And then there's a handful of mediocre men who wait for that intelligent woman, find her, but are overcome by their egos and the goading of their homeboys not to become "whipped" (read: fair, respectful, considerate of one's mate) for some chick, and they default to this conservative, infantile, hypermasculine standard due to their latent insecurities, often resulting in overly flexible smart girls trapped in horrible marriages or sweet but undeveloped, too-easily influenced boys losing their genius girlfriends to other genius girlfriends-turned-lesbian. :D

NB: And then there are a handful of the delicious sort who love smart girls, devote themselves to them and find this devotion reciprocated and form awesome alliances of mutual respect and friendship, ending lifelong loneliness and causing every bird in every tree to sing for the rest of their days.

Sex isn't something born of advanced thought. Sexual desire isn't focused on finding something complicated or difficult.

And ultimately, a partner needs to be dependable. Intelligent people with large egos are rarely dependable, and more difficult to get a commitment out of. Which is really unproductive when you're mainly seeking a stable romantic / sexual relationship that you mostly just want to enjoy.

There's a lot of bitching about women wanting (simple, dominating, upfront) bad boys too.

I think a lot of women conceal their intelligence, especially if they're attractive. I think they feel expected to be less intelligent than their partner and so they do so to make them happy.

I know this one girl who will ask the guy for help, acting like she doesn't know what she is doing but on tests she scores higher than myself and him (she's been consistently third to fifth best in the class). When the guy isn't around, she'll figure things out before me and the rest of the class for that matter. It does seem like it bothers him a little, whereas I find it extremely attractive. I'm not really sure whether the guy knows what she's doing or not.

Honestly, I'd say I know more competent females with slightly above-average intelligence than I do guys but I see more extreme cases with guys. I know a few really smart guys and I've met a bunch of really dumb ones. I'm pretty sure I watched a TED video about that being the general rule. Also, as a whole, I think I get along better with females than males because even intelligent males don't always seem competent or at least the ones I've met. I think I'll include myself in that category.
