Always interesting to watch intjs crack up.

What happened? Although as you can imagine gossip repulses me. Im above all that, obviously.

Just a wild guess:
Personal attack or a brutal comment resembling a personal attack.

But frankly, I have missed too many avatars lately to really care to ask.
My point is, I find this place to be better with him than without him. (And I don't really even know him.)
So I plead for a short suspension. Please.

I'm afraid zibber's suspension will be for one week, which is the standard suspension period. I'm sorry, but we don't give out shortened sentences on appeal. Longer suspensions are sometimes given, if one week fails to alter behavior, but not shorter.

Okay.

I was more worried about the "longer" part, really. I think someone made a thread once about a member who had been suspended for up to six months(....but that's just somewhere in the back of my memory....could be wrong.)

Is six months suspension for real, BB? gosh, that's too long.

Like I said - it is just something in the back of my memory - I could be wrong, ask the moderators/administrators.

Suspensions longer than one week are given out at the discretion of the administration, generally after one week suspension(s) have failed to elicit the desired change in behavior. When you consider that the alternative is banning the user, then perhaps 6 months will not seem so draconian.

In any case, the 6 months figure was given as the upper limit by stasis; I believe he said any longer than that, and he'd just ban them instead. I don't believe we've actually suspended anyone for that long, though.

It just came up in a thread here, where stasis said the upper limit was six months, so it may not actually have happened to anyone.
But that's what my brain decided to store under "possible length of suspension."

Here's the thread where stasis made that statement. There is a member who recently served a pretty lengthy suspension as I recall, that led to this thread.

I expect that if they are thinking of suspending for more than a month, they'll just do a ban instead.

Users have been suspended for more than a month, so you're mistaken on that point.

I lurk more than I post but I think zibber is an asset to this forum and am glad to see it's a short suspension, whatever the reasons are.

Not to mention that the member picture thread won't be quite the same without that hair.

Just saying.

How many times does this make for Zibber getting suspended? I could swear this is an almost annual thing here. Not that I dislike Zibber, or anything, on the contrary, I'm just not terribly surprised.

Speculation on the exact cause of, and frequency of, zibber's suspension(s) will not be satisfied, I'm afraid; this is a variant of "ban-porn". If he has concerns about the validity of the infraction, then he may raise those himself, and the frequency of his infractions is not a matter of public record.

I salute the Zman. Arguing in those threads made me very proud for him.
