- Develop a case study template and capture technical information along with business benefits to produce a range of case studies on a range of activities
- Implement the chosen strategies and ensure marketing is embedded in company operations
Essential criteria includes excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good focus and organisation skills, the ability to listen, grasp concepts and think creatively and good IT skills.
Desirable criteria include a candidate who is a confident self-starter able to work alone and as part of a team and knowledge of operation of business processes though work experience or summer jobs.


Policy Executive
Description:
This company is a membership organisation for business leaders providing professional development, advice, networking and lobbying opportunities.
Duties will include:
- Attending meetings with company officials and policy committees
- Researching information on economic and business issues
- Writing reports and providing briefings on findings
- Attending meetings with government officials, politicians and business leaders
- Helping organise events and producing communications to disseminate the outcome of the research
Essential crtieria include excellent literacy skills, good interpersonal skills and good IT skills.


Project Department - Research Executive
Description:
This company manufacturers high class Control Valves for the oil, gas and water industries. On site it has a valve design team responsible for all valve design work including NPD & technical documentation, a Project Management team responsible for the technical & commercial aspects of customer quotes ranging from spare parts to multi million £ contracts. It also has a manufacturing facility covering machining, assembly & testing of valves ranging from 2" diameter up to 72" diameter and work to ISO and various other standards. As a company it has developed a very high class Operational Excellence culture encompassing continuous improvement techniques including Kaizen, 5S and visual management.
Specifics for this role include:
Duo Check valves are one of two types of Control Valves manufactured. The valves range is quite extensive in terms of size and pressure ratings. The cutomer requirements also differ considerably in terms of material requirements and Non Destructive Testing requirements.
This project is to pull together costings for the full range of Duo Check valves on offer to give us aclearer insight into bought in costs & labour and overheads to enable cost savings if possible to be put in place.

Wouldn't see why you couldn't pull them all off. I find my self-imposed social restrictions vanish when in business setting.

I've voted for #4, the research position, as well, because that's a situation where the focus of what's required seems to be on the collation and analysis of factual information about a product...less explicit requirement for the whole "strong interpersonal skills" thing, that often is not an INTJ strength. That said, I wouldn't rule any of them out as unsuitable. Could offer a 2nd vote for the business analyst position, especially as a first-career role, on the grounds that it sounds likely to make use of our usually strong analytical skills, while allowing for development of weaker 'interpersonal' and marketing skill sets.

Thanks for your input! I like hearing from other versions of me. Too many S and F's providing advice based on what I have done in the past and telling me what I enjoy. A little pointless and irritating and I usually just upset them when they are trying to help.

Project Department - research

Needs long range vision, ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, discernment regarding choosing what is relevant to core elements essential to the project's success, capacity to see how puzzle pieces fit, ability to adhere to a focussed mission, freedom to move from one project to another when completed, form of leadership without the bullshit ... potentially ... :-) inspiration and intellect colliding for a purpose. Analysis for a bigger picture purpose, development of new / assimilation of existing knowledge as a resource to hand on, to enhance another entity / other entities goals / capabilities be part of an evolutionary movement forward. Uses T strengths, N strengths, J strengths, and I strengths.

Yeah and it's for fairly interesting research (around energy/water/environmental). Whilst control valves don't exactly thrill me. It's just this is putting me off.

I find my communication skills sufficient. It largely depends on the other person though to explain rationally. But then I think if it's in a work place I know what I'm doing, I know what I need to find out and can be very professional.
