My coffee table has a candy dish, three remotes, a eyeglass case, a notebook and mechanical pencil that the kid is using to write her punishment sentences, a pony tail holder, a pair of titanium scissors, a stack of holiday catalogs, flash cards, a lap desk, a laptop fan, one empty glass, one glass with tea, an appt card for my nerve block.

End table has a picture frame, lamp, trinket box, a cell phone and case, house phone, eyeglass case, hair clip, cellphone charger, one egg from Easter with jellybeans that the kids found when they cleaned under the buffet, a socket for christmas lights, a flash drive, coupon for one free game of bowling, two prescription bottles.

Other end table has a lamp and house phone base.

I only use my living room when I want to watch TV, which is rarely these days, so it's remarkably clutter free. On the tables are TV, cable box/phone/router, remote control, coaster. I compute in the dining room. It's also clutter free though.

The book cases throughout the house--well I just have three--are packed and starting to look messy. I could use another or maybe I should purchase an eReader and start housing books on that.

I should admit that my drawers and closets are not so aesthetically pleasing.... *slinks off to ponder organization systems and the merits of freecycling*

I have two large dogs, hence, no coffee table. I do have a side table, though. On it at this moment is:

Remote
Can of Diet coke
One of my cameras
Cell phone and charger
Back scratcher
Finger nail file
Nail clippers
Newspaper
Pen
Eye glasses
Small notebook
Copy of my FB stories
Flash card reader

Did I mention the table is 16x16 inches square?

I have a small child, no coffee table, either. No end tables and not much laying out (because of small child.)

Our coffee table often becomes overwhelmed with stuff.
At the moment it has several old newspapers, a pile of various magazines, a book, the star from the Xmas tree and an old laptop bag. There are also some coffee coasters under the newspapers.

The star fell off the Xmas tree last night when the cat started to climb the tree. It shattered into a number of smaller pieces. The cat hasn't been seen all day and is in hiding.

The book "From Here to There" is a travelogue and isn't exactly riveting. I pick it up every week or so and devour another chapter. It's going to take a while to finish.

The laptop bag is where one of the cats (the tree climbing cat) sleeps most nights. It is covered in cat hair.

The coffee table hasn't been used for "coffee" for a few years now

I have a very small, square end table that I use as a coffee table. Right now it is a mess. On it are two small, empty plastic bags; the box that my Christmas tree lights came in; a pink post-it note with a couple of phone numbers on it; an empty bowl and teacup; a DVD of the kids movie "Thumbelina"; a wooden toy from my childhood where you have to get a ball that's attached to a string into a cup (it's really hard to do); a pink stuffed smiley-face toy; a small Canadian flag on a stick; a Ziploc bag with some Goldfish crackers in it; and a bag of marbles...........yes....................a bag of marbles. Why? Well, I just don't know.

Two machetes, a sniper rifle, a Scarface DVD, 12 completed rubik's cubes, a large bag of blow, 10 million in unmarked bills, a dead cat, 3 hustlers, a severed finger, bullets, my nobel prize, and the current edition of home and garden magazine.

... there's nothing on my coffee table...

After reading this thread, I have to wonder what it says about INTJs. The ones with the least amount of stuff on their coffee tables are not INTJ, and the ones with the most stuff are INTJs....hmmm.
