I vote XNTJ. He has the balance between Ni and Te

Really, I think he's un-typeable because of severe narcissism. But I voted ENTJ since he is a big risk-taker, impulsive (remember fake L) and easily bored -> that seems like extraversion to me.

None of the above. He's INFJ.

I had an impression that he was an extrovert and a sensor. I am guessing ESTJ.

That's not really ENTJ behavior. ENTPs are known more for brinksmanship. So if you are basing it on that characteristic, I quite disagree.

Besides, I don't really think he's typeable.

I think he's typable before he went insane from possessing the Death Note. He reverts to normal again when his memories are erased. Prior to chapter 1, he was planning in following in his father's footsteps as a police officer. Even when he's insane, he's working from a very twisted sense of idealism. He's punishing criminals to make a better world.

From Death Note Wiki:

In Death Note: How to Read 13, Ohba said that Light was "a young man who
could understand the pain of others" when he first encountered the Death Note. Ohba said that if Ryuk never developed an interest in the human world, Light would have become "one of the greatest police leaders in the world" who, with L, worked against criminals.

I'm not really sure about this. What was L's, though?

L was very INTP, I thought.

He's narcissistic, and mentally unstable after he took possession of the Death Note, making attempts at typing him seem arbitrary.

Light is an extremely difficult character to type if you ask me.

He seems to be an introvert and has rarely been seen with friends around him. Yet, he is excellent at dealing with people, and has had several girlfriends wrapped around his finger.

Ni would probably be among his dominant functions, with his ability to foresee and plan ahead when dealing with L and Near.

He strikes a healthy balance between F and T, with his mastery of logic paired with a twisted sense of idealism.

I would put him as an INFJ but of course, it is by no means correct. I don't think you can even type psychopaths in the first place.
