Has anyone else tried making put-back potatoes?
I just made them once for Thanksgiving a few years ago, and they were great. I want to make them again sometime. |

I have been experimenting with home-made veggie enchiladas! They're easy, fun, and cheap.
Soak your pinto beans over night. Boil the heck out of 'em the next day. Saute onions, garlic, jalepenos in some olive oil and through in lots of cumin (and salt to taste) Add it to your beans and smoosh it all together (great for sublimation of anger). Cook up some rice with tomatos and more jalepenos. Get your tortillas ready and dip them in enchilada sauce. Throw on the rice and beans, and roll 'em up. Put them all in a casserole dish and throw on the rest of the sauce, add some cheese and diced scallions. 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cheap, good, and healthier than any store bought refried beans. But you will end the night farting for 3 hours. |

Except that it has no taste incase you didn't want to go sweet. Also I have found NO other use for it, so that one bottle which is probably as old as I am is still always there waiting for me. |

Maybe my bottle is so old it has lost its taste :/ its kroger brand light corn syrup. Reminds me of honey with 95% of its taste gone. Perhaps I will try something new to make it stick next time |

There are much better things to make chinese food with than corn syrup. For a premade sauce that's very good try soyvay

Last night; penne pasta in a cheesy white sauce with sauteed, sliced chicken breasts, red bell peppers, and broccoli (the wife did this one, I can't claim it). Store-bought cheesecake with strawberry topping.
@TLM; I lust after your french toast! |

Fideo:
You will need: 1 pkg Fideo (coil vermicelli) 1 can of tomato sauce (Flavored/spicy suggested) 1 pound of meat (Seafood/chicken/ground beef choose) 1 can of Rottela chillies diced tomato's 1 envelope of taco seasoning 1 small tub of sour cream (optional) Brown your meat set aside. Crush 5 or 6 coils of noodles (about 10oz) into hot oil cook till golden brown. Add can of tomato sauce. Add 3 cans of water. Add meat Add rottela Add seasoning Bring to a boil and cover. Reduce heat and simmer till most liquid is absorbed, Stir occasionally. Before serving fold in sour cream . You can garnish with chopped olives and diced peppers. This is a dish that is quick and easy served with tortillas by itself or with side dishes. (beans, salad, rice) |

Do you have such fine dining every night?
It's one of the few things I can make better than my mom. |

Last night: Ribeye seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and other unknown herbs. Grilled medium. Followed up with a couple of pringles and a cup full of Rice Krispies. Delicious.

It depends on how lazy we feel. Tonight will probably be home made 'burgers - plain 'n simple.
I haven't tried making chili, been too intimidated by the "chili mystique". |

Once I get to Alaska, I'll post some exteme culinary recipes. The other messageboard I'm on (please excuse my daliance) has some delectable recipes involving grouse, salmon, moose, and smelt.
For now, most of my delectable creations include raman noodles. I drool for sea scallops and salmon dips. |

That is mostly taken care of if you rinse the beans before putting them in the chili (if you are using canned beans).
Just make it a number of times and try it every way you can think of. Then you will probably have a favorite, which you will want to make more of in the future. |

just find yourself a Skyline Chili (Cincinatti style) and get the works - you won't have to worry about a thing! |

I also once made some chicken legs that I prepared by removing the skin, wrapping the meat in basil leaves, salt and pepper, and then replacing the skins, and then baking the legs. Oh so tasty!!
Roasted vegetable purees are delicious as well. Drizzle some with a nice olive oil, and roast them in the oven, puree with a little broth, add some salt and pepper -- mmmmmmmmmmmm! |
