We--Yevgeny Zamyatin (in translation)
It's a distopian fantasy satirizing communism in Russia (even though it was written in 1917-18 when the worst was yet to come). |

The last book I started and finished (over Christmas break) was The Third Policeman - by Flann O'Brien (or Brian O'Nolan). very interesting and I will go back to it maybe this summer.
The book I am currently reading (among other theoretical/history books for school) is Rabbit Redux- by John Updike. I have actually been reading this one for a little bit when I need something different to read I take it out. |

It's history, it's mathematics, it's The History of Mathematics, by Florian Cajori.
Double the geekness, double the fun. |

Ian M. Banks - The Algebraist. Such a devious annoying delightful writer - erm, don't forget the M. it indicates his science fiction. This one I'm enjoying a lot - but dammit he's toying with me.
Also alternating with Alastair Reynolds when I can find either author. |

L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time (for probably the ninth time... I actually borrowed it from the library, lazy person that I am, instead of bothering to just read the copy on my own bookshelf... 'cause it had a more interesting cover image)
and Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors |

@ Weirdo87 - We is such a brilliant book! I just finished re-reading it again, for about the 10th time
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Am now reading Hothouse by Brian Aldiss, it's nominally SF but really a lot more Fantasy-like.. set in a far, far-future Earth where the Earth has the same side always facing the Sun and plants have become the ruling life-forms.. and giant spider vegetables spin their webs between Earth and the Moon... it's pretty spectacular, I'm really enjoying it! |

Several books at once, as usual, but the main one is The Orchid Thief, by Susan Orlean. It's really interesting so far - it's a true story, and very well written.

I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb
The two main characters are twin brothers one of whom is schizophrenic. I've only just begun to make a dent in the book, but it's pretty good so far. |

Confessions of a Master Jewel Thief
By Bill Mason and Lee Gruenfeld It is amazing. Really appeals to my inner INTJ. This jewel theif is describing his whole life and how he robbed all these famous people of their jewels. Complete Non-Fiction |
