I'll be a high school graduate in a month(I know that doesn't mean much, just stating the fact). I am 18 years old. I will be attending community college after I graduate from h.s. I currently work as a cashier at a supermarket and despise it. Horrible job for an INTJ.
~What would be a good part-time job(20-25hrs/week) for me? Things that would be a plus: -Not stressful or low stress -Easy job or relatively easy -Decent pay ($9+ an hour) -Weekend only (Sat, Sun, Fri) -Don't have to deal with people/or many people -Don't need to be talking often -Preferably can sit down -Calm job, RELAXED environment, no pressure What is the job for me? This may seem far out, but I've found that non-traditional jobs are much easier on the brain. So - Are you an animal person? Housesitting for folks with animals seems to be in high demand. Usually pretty easy, decent pay, and you can be alone.

heh I wouldn't mind playing video games all day myself.
Problem is the job competition offers to do it for free. What about video game reviewer which also suffers from the same problem? Easy, calm and well paying aren't commonly found combinations because if it was easy and calm they wouldn't have to pay you for it. I heard consultant has nice hours since they get to pick but of course you need expertise that few others have. |

I had crap jobs like that when I was in HS and University.
The thing about having crap jobs like that during those years is that it really motivates you to study hard, get good grades, and to seriously consider your future career options. Also, you get to practise using your weaker personality traits (E, S, F, P), which in itself has some value. That being said, your job requirements pretty much align with those typical of on-campus jobs. You should definitely visit the career center of your future college to see what they offer. Alot of students work for their campus libraries, manning the checkout desks, etc. If you already have a clear-cut idea of your future career you may want to consider internships in the field you are wanting to go into. Internships give you an added edge when you enter the job market someday, and sometimes they pay quite well (for a college student). |

DO you have any skills? Real world experience? You've already shown you have no education (a H.S. Diploma means nothing in the real world) Looks like you will be stuck in retail for the next few years.
I'm sorry to break your bubble, but your options are severely limited. Other than light industrial or warehousing, that is probably about it. And even there, you will usually need some kind of experience or a forklift operators certificate. In either case, you will be stuck with wonderfully mindless repetitive tasks. Though a newspaper route is not such a bad idea. Did this for a year in college. Decent money and I didn't have to deal with anyone. |

The preference of seated work takes you toward business / office environments. You'll want to accommodate a school schedule. Hospitals need folks around the clock to check patients in, etc. I don't know if they still use ward clerks or not. Less sitting jobs are more likely and less public - whether in the housekeeping / maintenance, laundry, or kitchen departments? Tons of jobs exist where you don't have to be in the public eye.

Think about getting an off-shift factory job through a temp agency. Temp agency makes it easier to place, and to adjust your schedule according to school. The pay will be decent, although you'll get less than a full-time employee because the agency takes a cut. Doing the same thing over and over again for eight hours may be stress-free or stress-inducing, depending on your take. Considering the BS I put up with in food service, I should have gotten a factory job.

You realize that $9+ is a bit much, right? Well, I guess depending on where you live, but where I'm from the norm is more around $7/hour.
A good weekend job that I almost took part in was Data Entry. Also, I'm about to take up a Pharmacy job myself, so I'll tell you how that works out a few weeks into it. |

You may wish to try food delivery(pizza, ect...).
The pay with tips can be quite well 10+ per hour. It isnt very stressful, and can be quite a bit of fun. If you keep your apperance up, and pratice your social skills you will get better tips. And regulars will request that you deliver there orders. I did it for 3 years, and had a lot of fun. Good luck with the hunting. |

landscaping is a semi-solo job, make your own hours, how many hours you want to work per week, etc.
i don't know much else, but i do know the president of TruGreen and he started as a basic landscaper before he thought of the idea to start his own business (i met him in person, he was pretty cool) |

The two best jobs I had during college were bartender and lifguard. They both pay well and you meet plenty of women.

This is a good idea by going into a temp agency helped you figured out on what type of job you are going for? Remember, its not a dream job, but job experience this is very important in trying to attempting to get into any other jobs. No job experience your chances of getting another is kind of low. In having both booksmart and some job working experience is very important, so you don't end up, like those other stupid co-workers you worked with.
I've recently had a Data Enty job, its not that bad. Tried to listened to some good music from different genre's. Depending on your location, I can guaranteed you are going to working in teams of 20-30 people; that's not bad, if you were in college its much less than this amount. I've been in a room with more than 65 people or a room just with 40 people. You know that I know yes, it can be really scary, wow so many people packed into a room. Well, What are your chances in meeting another intj? I managed to met another married female intj, which is good to know that I am not alone to get this tons of work done. Someone has to do it?, but it takes great teamwork and some internal workers to keep it at bay. The room is consist of super introverts, average introverts, heavy extroverts, crazy people, non stopped talkers (do I even have to asked what kind of people are they?)[if you are sitting by one, then you're screwed or are you?], intellegent people, authority figures with strict rules, really weird people, etc. |
