Probably Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. Jason Bourne is a close second.

What about Bruce Lee? He beat Chuck Norris, after all.

Arnold Schwarznegger is the best for many roles. I think his career is very "all around" and complete since he's always been able to make irony of his own roles.

Clint Eastwood was difficult not to vote. Another very good actor who understood how to go on with a real career in film making and became a good director. But Schwarznegger is better suited for action.

This list is forgetting Sylvester Stallone. He's not insignificant enough to get the "Other" shaft, is he?

He is the (2nd) best! Do you remember any cool dialogue from his movies?

Just to provoke more names ;-).

What are your favourite action movies, and what aspects did you enjoy, other than the action itself?

One thing I think an action movie has to have, is witty dialogues, especially if they contain bantering.

oh, he is the classic action hero. the Great Escape is probably my favorite movie of all time (hence, the avatar). Le Mans, Bullitt, The Thomas Crown Affair, Hell is for Heroes, the Towering Inferno... god.. he's a man's man.

Jackie Chan himself admitted he did not get the humor of those.

Jackie Chan I watched him back in 1980 while I was in Japan I saw him in The Drunken Master. Then I started seeing him all over the big screen.

Sean Connery was fantastic in the old James Bond movies. My second choice would be Matt Damon in the Bourne series.

Damon sucked as Bourne.

Agree with Jason Stratham.

Oh, COME ON!!! HAN SOLO!? INDIANA JONES!? What more needs to be said about Ford? Oh yeah, he played the fictional president of the United States of America once, and beat the living shit out of some terrorists. And, lest we forget, the star of the all-time cult classic Blade Runner. Does Jack Ryan ring a bell? How about Richard Kimble?

But the Die Hard guy was a close sescond.
