the school condected the MBTI talk last week (the talk will be held continuously in the following 2 weeks) and i found myself to be an INTJ. Asking the people around me, i realised non of them have the same personality type as me! i thought i was alone initially until i discovered this forum.

when the result is obtained, my classmate in front of me turned around and said aloud: HAHA YOU ARE AN INTROVERT! like in an insulting way, that made me feel so bad but i got over it immediately. nothing's wrong being an introvert, right?

and by the way, we make up less than 1% of the population according to Wikipedia, so isn't it a fact that we are unique? haha!

Unique is definitely the word that I would use to describe INTJs. Once I had three in my family, (now only two) and having three of them as true friends certainly told me that. Welcome to the forum!

BTW, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being an introvert! After all... I am too.

I once worked for an ENTP who described me as "quirky". She was afraid she had offended me, but I took it as a compliment.

I assume you have always known that you aren't like everybody else, now you just know why (or will come to know why).

actually, introverts make as much of the population as extroverts

50/50

but it is always them that seem to run the show

but do you know imbalanced this world would be if there were only introverts?

or only extroverts for that matter?

anyways, i am Motor Jax, an INFJ

and i welcome you

In my experience, the E's make the most 'noise', so they make themselves seem like they are greater than they really are. We're at home reading a book, while they are out crowding the clubs and coffeeshops. Even if that club was 50% I's, it will still feel like 90% E, but since most the I's are at home it feels like 99% E. Also, in my experience, a borderline E/I will become more E when in a crowd. So it makes the gap even bigger.

There is nothing wrong with being an introvert. Extraverts may disagree, but have they ever stopped for a moment to think about it??

Some E's find the introvert mindset to be incomprehensible - as if we are missing some essential quality of humanity. Those that feel that way don't seem to realize that it is the differences between us that make the world an interesting place.

Welcome to the forum.

Hello and welcome.

16 MBTI personality types doesn't seem to divide into 6.5 billion people that well. If it was the case that we were all the same then none of us would be here looking for answers.

Ignorance really is bliss. I know only one INTJ in person other than me.

Me:.........
Leisa[EXXX]: You need to talk more. You don't talk enough, stop being so quiet.
Julie[INTJ]: A wiseman speaks when he has something to say, a fool speaks because they have to say something.
Me: *grin*
Leisa: What? What's that grin for? You two are weird and you need to talk more. blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

so it would seem though

with 16 types (8 extro types & 8 intro types)

with the 8 extro types with intro tendencies or shyness

and 8 intro types with extro tendencies or outwardly outgoing

makes it hard to tell

Sometimes is does. I notice that Extro's tend to be a little more shallow and miss the point alot, but they're better socially. Not saying they're stupid, but that this is the case with nearly every Extro I meet in comparison to the intro.

*yawn* btw I don't think I've ever once met an INFJ, I hear that's the rarest personality type of them all.

While it is statistically correct that we do make 1% of the population, I wouldn't trust Wikipedia. It is made and run by people who do not know and if you do wish to use it, you should use it only for quick reference. God forbid you use it for a dissertation or a paper!

There is NOTHING WRONG with introversion. Those who say things are just sad at the fact that they don't have someone whom they can direct their attentions to. Extraverts are always in need of attention and will aggressively seek this despite the unwillingness of the introvert. To put it simply, avoid these people whom want to suck everything out of you (they are just vacuums who want to take away any bit of individuality you have), and focus on the people and values that are most important to you.

Another thing, don't titilate yourself with the idea of being INTJ. Other personalities have their good aspects too. And certainly don't be a bureaucrat of this personality. It is best if one explores different personalities and different faces. Self-actualization is the ideal and goal.

"Unique", that's pretty much what they seem to say about our type. Whether that will translate into 'wonderful', especially for yourself, is another matter. I hope so. Welcome.

I suppose that quote may be a bit trite, but you are all welcome to refer me to something more eloquent.
