Simple as that. Despite the fact that they killed off Johnny Cage at the start (XD), the rest of this thing is nice-looking! Well, they didn't follow the whole MK thing but they made a nice thing out of their spinoff. Definitely makes me want to see more.

I'm pretty sure it's made up. Blood filled eyes or inflamed eyelids is what I "found on the internet".

Actually, the lower eyelids curve outwards too much, covering the eye. They tend to bleed upon birth and are prone to infection. (In other words, ectropion.)

To clear things up, it's a private, independent project from the guy who is best known for directing Fame. He called in a shitload of favors and spent about $7,500 on this, basically as a sort of message to Warner Brothers, who have had "Mortal Kombat movie" on the shelf for a while now (they own the rights and such).

In other words, this is basically a bold, unilateral thing WB has yet to respond to..

In my eyes, all of this is completely freaking awesome. I'm actually rewatching the old MK movies and they are a ton of fun from a videogame-to-movie perspective (especially MK2, believe it or not, which I am surprisingly loving the shit out of), but this seems like it would be more "Nolan's Batman" cool than anything else. Just gritty, somewhat credible stuff.
