So, I'm just curious if there is a similarity between the type of pets INTJs have (or how many pets) and the fact that they are an INTJ.

My mom was a pet person, so I had lots of pets growing up. Now (on my own) I only have 3.

I have a Red-Eared Slider Turtle named Cauchy. I've had him since my last year of college. Yes, I "illegally" had him in the dorm.

I have a long-haired cat named Missy (I rescued her back in December 2009).

And last Monday, I adopted a short-haired cat named Whiskers from the shelter.

Missy and Whiskers came with their names. I named Cauchy myself (I was a mathematics major in college). Missy is 10, Whiskers is 5, and Cauchy is 4 or 5.

Okay, I've rambled enough. I'm just a pet person and curious what other INTJs have as pets.

I have a pair of lovebirds. They keep each other entertained, they're relatively easier to care for (as compared to a dog or cat), and they're fun little things.

Plus they'll be great on the barbie for Independence Day. I feed them, they'll feed me...

Cat, his names BC.
But I call him any 2-4 letters that pop into my head.
For example, LSD, PCP, CBGB, BCBG, JC Penny...anything

I have a green cheek conure named Ducky. I had cockatiels and a parakeet before her but I was tired of "dumb"* animals and wanted something with some brains.

She really blew me out of the water with how smart she is (and charismatic, and opinionated). This tiny little dinosaur is the light of my life. I call her my feathered child.

As for tetrapods, I enjoy cats but prefer dogs. Love horses but not the expense of owning them.

*Cockatiels and parakeets make wonderful pets, but you would not believe how stupid mine turned out to be. Not knocking them at all, I just got a couple crazy ones and they weren't for me.

NONE... pets are not for me.

I have no time to take care of them, I have no desire to spend money on animals when there are kids dying, and honestly I don't like pets on my place.... they stink...

The only pet I though about getting was FISH.... for soothing purposes, but when they came up with the Acuarium Screensaver for the computer, that did it for me.... Is awesome, I don't have to worry about cleaning, feeding, them dying when I'm out of town, you know... really nothing better than to stay away from them... besides I can take my computer/aquarium where ever I go and don't have to spend a penny or worry about being sent to jail for animal cruelty, which can be something stupid..

Just in case, I did had pets before...

Had a cat, who decided to give birth to 8 and it was cute to help her give birth... but shit was all over the place so I got rid of them... no time to train them or waste my time cleaning after them.

Had a dog, went to ocean city not knowing the rules, got there and they didn't allow dogs at the beach, so almost got a ticket for animal cruelty for leaving it in the car, windows open... they are just so inconvenient...

I tolerate a few cats, but I don't understand them.

I am a dog person.

Do I look like my dog? What can we read into the dog we own?

At the same time I had, yes in the same house,

Great Dane
German Shepard
Terrier
Dauschhund

So, what can you tell about me and my dogs?

5 cats.
3 rabbits.
1 red-eared slider.
4 fish total, with recent births.

It's a lucky number.

Well, if you leave your dog in your car, when you're on the beach, you deserve at least a ticket. I think you are the kind of person capable of doing the same thing to an infant. It's not the animals fault, it's yours. People like you make me feel very unpleasant.

For your information the dog was in the car from less than 5min and I didn't stay too long at the beach because of it.... I'm not as naive as you think I am.... bottom line animals are not for me... and no I wouldn't leave an infant in the car alone.. you're f**ck**g crazy. Personally I don't give shit if you feel so unpleasant.... either way that was like 7yrs ago, first thing I did after that trip was to get rid of the damm dog...

Yeah, because it's the dog's fault You couldn't provide for it's needs and take care of it.

Two black cats - Molly and Leo

The other day I was wondering whether pets start to mimic the personality of their owners, last weekend I was dog-sitting for my ESFP friend's dog and it seemed strangely like her, in dog form...
